Best movie of all times
By far, has to be Smokey and the Bandit. It's all about beer, fast cars and women.
But not just ANY beer. Coors Light.

Has anybody (other than me[:D]) ever seen "Eating Raoul?" One of the great cult films of all time! And if we are (and I am) talking about cult films, can't forget the best one of all....The Rocky Horror Picture Show! "What's for supper?" "MEATLOAF!" 0 -
Auto sensor changed it to "black person"
The actor Burton Gilliam played Lyle, Taggart's (Slim Pickens) right hand man, was a Firefighter before Blazing Saddles. He was very much not a raciest and had a hard time saying the lines referring to Sheriff Bart (Cleavon Little) as a " N i g g e r".0 -
I found a site with pictures and audio clips.

Lonesome dove
Apocalypse now
Unforgiven
Platoon
Hamburger Hill
Smokey and the bandit
"do what I tell you you barrel of monkey nuts"- Buford t Justus0 -
did anyone else realize the pale rider is one of the 4 horsemen of the apocelypse? he is death...I never made the connection between that and the Eastwood movie. 0 -
gladiator or braveheart or any war movie you pick it [8D] 0 -
I can't believe no one has said Lonesome Dove yet!
That has to be the best ever!0 -
See csjis1194'd post on Lonsome Dove above.
However, I wouldn't lump a made for TV mini series into this list.
Trinity +++0 -
Platoon, Jeremiah Johnston, and the Origonal Quick and the dead with Sam Elliot, Lonesome Dove 0 -
Well I can assure you folks it isn't "Wild Hogs." It was funny but will not win any awards. A light laugh.
I liked "Top Gun" and "Bullet," two of my favorites. I have many others and most of them have Sylma Hyack in them, don't tell my wife.[:0][:0]
LT Jennerman! That has a nice ring to it. Thats what I would do too knowing what I know now at my wise ole age![^]0 -
"The Cowboys" and "The Shootist" (John Wayne) 0 -

Zulu, when did you make E-4? Seems like just a few days ago you were crying about not making E-3 yet? Pretty soon you'll be hanging out at the NCO Club. It's amazing how much smarter those NCOs get when you are one. [:D]
Congratulations son.
Got the E-4 this past weekend. And it was a couple months ago when I was whining about not having it yet. It was overdue, but better late than never, right?
No, the next step for me isn't the NCO club, it's the O-Club. Few more years and I'll be 2LT Jennerman.
Congratulations on the promotion to Corporal! Good luck on your journey to the officer ranks, too.0 -

Lonesome Dove and Braveheart for two. 0 -
I would have to say Slapshot and Quigley Down Under. 0 -
Holy cow! Have you all lost your mind?
Clint Eastwood
Merrill Streep
The best movie has to be...
The Bridges of Madison County
Clint at his charming best...
long walks...
candle lit dinner...
poetry...
white wine, a bath and thou...
The scene in the car when he's leaving town, in the pouring rain. Ms Streep is in agony...should she run away with him...go...no...go...no...go...Oh the agony!!
Clint or endless cow turds
Clint or endless laundry
Clint or endless boring sex
Clint or her bland, blathering moronic husband...
Gee, now that I think about it...Clint, you lost out to...what?
Now you all feel what I feel. The emotion, the passion.
Yes, my wife made me take her to see it too.[:I]0 -
Debbie does Dallas
behind the green door0 -
I'm Changing my fav. to....
Ice Pirates0 -
This is an impossible task picking THE best of all time. To some I'm sure Porky's would qualify, but I like to think the bunch on here have a little higher appreciation of cinemagraphic work. While I read a few good titles in this thread, nothing really jumped out.
Here are my five based on all aspects; cast, score, cinematography, subject matter, and impact.
Lawrence of Arabia Score
Inherit the Wind Impact
The Seven Samurai Subject matter
Gone With The Wind Cast
Tora, Tora, Tora Cinematography
Many aspects overlap in each of these and the single attribute should not be considered the only aspect applicable.0 -
hows about 'once upon a time in America'.. niiiiiice movie, long & close to the heart..[:D] 0 -

Why would anyone want to have the screen name of "wipala"? It's just something I want to do. I want to have my own platoon (and even company) someday so I can be the leader that I wish I had when I was in the sandbox.0 -
Zulu7,
AIM HIGH!!!
General Jennerman has a better ring to it then Lt Jennerman, and you will have more say on how a platoon is run.
Remember that poope rolls downhill0
