It has to be a pistol cartridge in order to be legal in Indiana, and this is the first year for that provision. That's why there aren't many around as the season arrives.

Screwy rules, .35 Remington is OK in a "handgun" but not in a rifle.
This is the first year for centerfire rifles.0 -
I keep hearing rumors that this new law will lead to the opening up of some rifle calibers like the 30/30. Not sure if I buy into it but it did go from .410 to handgun cartridges pretty quick. I think they should leave it as is. 0
