Here in NC it is a cool cool morning and gas just went down to $2.98.

I am taking off work early and taking a whole baseball team of kids "tubing" at the lake.

I have got it made fo shizzle.

While sitting at the breakfast table this morning listening to my oldest son explain why he couldn't get a job,,He says " Could have went to work for the carpet laying co. $8.00 a hour. I had to turn him down, I'm worth more then that" Well he'd be in training for a week or two at $8.00 then, $12.00 for 2 years, then he'd have his own crew.
The (IDIOT) has been out of work for 6 months. I "WAS" supporting him and his family. As of this morning he's on his own.

Whats wrong with these children today?[V][V]

Got dizzy yesterday and fell over. My wife called 911. The EMS came and asked a lot of questions. When they finally got me in the Ambulance my heart rate was down to 27 bpm. Big panic, IV's some shots that didn't work , heart rate down to 19 bpm. Now I know what a tazzer is, I don't think them guys should be aloud to have that equipment, Thank god they do, Saved my life 2 miles to the hospital, think I got hit about 200-300 times.
Got air evaced to the VA in Nashville, Them are good people too.
In a 8 hour period they brought my heart rate up to 41 bpm. Not good but I wasn't dieing any more.
Seems a local doc. tripled up my heart meds. and didn't talk to me.
Nice guy create your own patients type of business.
VA has good heart Docs. He caught it quick. He changed all my meds. I got to go home today at 2:00 pm.

    LIVE LONG AND PROSPER

Wife and I are celebrating our 34th Anniversary. I spent the day up in the woods working on the garden, since Dcon made me aware we are at least a week behind schedule.

My dang gone fruit trees are blooming and budding and that isn't good,

Currently on my fourth Jim Beam and Coke and wifey is having something with fruit smoothie and Vodka.

My youngest daughter has moved home AGAIN and while I'm not happy about it I will adapt for the supposed three weeks.

She is a teacher at a local high school and she is sneezing and sniffling so I'm spraying Lysol on everything.

Who the hell suggested something was wrong with America and was moving away?
    I love it here

It was pretty hard to get up for work this morning at 0500 but with all that is happening around the globe I'm feeling like I'm pretty well off...
just waiting on a nice venison roast and sipping some fine Canadian whiskey...
off for the next three days and hopefully landing some fine Red River Walleyes...
    Hope everyone survived last night...
Wishing you all the best of the new year and the next 364 days as well...

..Just puttering around the house, having a beer and checking the nonsense here on GB. I heard this ka-chunk, ka-chunk sound, and investigated. There, I find my wife resizing several hundred .357 and .38 cases for me. She knows that sizing is tough on my semi-metallic spine. How cool is that?
..As long as she was at it, I set the powder measure for 5.1 gr. of Unique and gave her a box of 158 gr. SWCs. [^]

howdy all, hope everything has been kind here, just thought i would pop in and say hello, been lurkin for awhile, but anyway i have no complaints, new job is better than ever expected, im not going to boast but its unbelievable, i have to pinch myself often and remind myself its legal {lol}, wife got a new job and she also enjoys a short work week, and rediscovered life too, she was in misery with her old job, i gave her the ok to quit because i can make her salary by noon and pay for our health insurance, the day after she quit she got a call from an old boss that went out on his own and wanted her as their accountant, no pressure for her with optional 3-4 day work week, all is well in 1911 land, blood pressure is down, lost 65 pounds with the extra time to exercise, heating very healthy and walking 5 miles every morning, hope everyone else has been moving forward and enjoying life too

    good for you.
he will learn, and the sooner the better if he has dependants
You can always switch to a better job if you find one, and your prospects are better when you are already working

Sounds like a wake up call, from both sides of the breakfast table.

I agree with you. The part I loved was the "I am worth more than that." The immediate question that came to my mind was "to whom?" Too many of our younger persons do not understand that "they are worth" the amount that it costs the business to hire another to do the same quantity and quality of work. Tough situation but one that you handled correctly, IMHO.

My little brother (34 years old) is still living with my parents along with his wife and 11 year old. They've been living with my parents for the last 2 years so they could save enough to buy a house. Problem is, him and his wife keep quiting jobs or getting fired so they've managed to save $0. My brother even had the opportunity to attend college for two years for free but said it was too hard and they blame everybody but themselves for their situation.
