When was the first time you pulled the trigger?
I was six years old and we were on our ranch in Wilson, Wyoming. My dad was a retired Army Captain and brought his Colt 1911 .45 ACP for himself and a bolt action .22 Remington (that I still have) for my older brother and I to shoot. We set up some cans and my dad carefully, yet strictly instructed us in the safe handling of firearms. Of course, my brother went first and missed most of his shots because he didn't listen to our dad. I did listen and followed his instructions to the letter and coincidentally, hit my target on every pull of the trigger. My dad offered my brother to shoot the Colt 45 and he declined. After a little begging, my father racked one into the chamber, removed the magazine, squatted down behind me, helped me get a grip on it (sort of) while wrapping his hands around mine and POW! I shot my first .45 at age six! [^]

Don't remember how old I was, but it was dad's break-action .410 shotgun. I liked that gun, but he traded that and his WWI 1911 for a Winchester 1300 with both barrels. 0 -

My dad and his cousin took me hunting on my great-uncles farm when I was about 9 or 10. I shot a .22 (don't remember what make or model) and my dad's Mossberg .410 bolt action that his grandpa gave him when he was 10. My dad is not a hunter and I think that they told me we were going hunting but actually we were just going shooting. Now I'm the one that takes him shooting. 0 -

Can't remember the exact age, but I know it was around 6 with a pellet gun. Man did I wreak havoc on my uncle's squirrel and bird population. He was never too happy about the birds[:D].

I was 3, it was with my Dads (no name italian built) .22 single action, I held the gun and he wrapped his hands around mine and let me pull the trigger. With the way my Mom tells the story I was aming at one bottle and missed it, but the bullet bounced off a rock and hit the bottle that was sitting behind it. 0 -
