Unusual atitude (cont)
Just an update on the flying saga. I was unable to fly last week due food poisoning. I finally got up today. What a kick. Aerolon rolls, stalls, spins and a much more. It was kick and I didn't even spill my instructor's coffee (sitting on the floor in back). I want to thank all of you who responded to my last post and offered advice and information. It's been around 30 years since I last did regular flying and, today was really special. For those who don't fly; it's a feeling of freedom we are seldom get to experience. Sorry for the rant, but "you'd have to be there". [:D][:D][:D] Paul

Flying is as close as you can get to motorcycle riding.

I haven't flown in 6 years. My boss had a new C182 that he let me fly and he paid for fuel but he sold it. I was thinking about getting my medical renewed and getting back into it. 0 -
While in the service (U.S.A Navy), I flew. You can't pull over and fix what ever is wrong with the aircraft, like you can while riding a bike. I enjoyed doing both when I was younger. 0 -

One thing to consider on the medical; make damn sure you can pass it with no problems. The reason I mention this is, if you don't pass, you don't fly--period. Under the new Light Sport rules you can fly a certificated Light sport aircraft and haul one passenger using a valid State Drivers license in lieu of a medical if you have not failed a medical. If you already have a private or commercial license, there are no other requirements other than getting current in the type aircraft you will be flying. I believe you have to have a biannual flight review as well, but don't quote me on that.[:)]0 -
I remember those!!! "OK, You got it!" - I look up, and HOLY S*IT! Chop throttle! Level the Wings! Opposite rudder! Pull UP!, or: YIPES! FULL THROTTLE! Nose OVer!!!
Also fun were the "Trust the Instruments" flights where you would have to put your head down , hands in your lap, feet off the pedals, and tell Instructor what the plane is doing, then take a look.
Or: be flying, busy doing your best to keep up a good scan and handle the rapid-fire heading changes, then He says Look outside, dummy, and you are headed towards a mountain or some trees, way off course cause you forgot to reset the Gyro....
Fun Stuff!!!
I miss it like a Leg.0
