KITT's headed for a rebirth - but different.
I liked Knight Rider oN TV, and I've been looking forward to seeing what the new Knight Rider film is going to be like. I've got it on good information that it will be Michael Knight's son driving the new and improved KITT. Now 'they' are saying that KITT is going to be a Mustang. Dastardly Hollywood is screwing with us again, KITT was a Trans Am and that was (in my opinion) the 'right' car for it. KITT is supposed to be a futuristic intelligent robo car, so why are they basing it on a retromobile Mustang?
I suppose that is my main beef, but at the same time, I can see their 'casting' problem... what car WOULD be right as KITT? Pontiac doesn't make a Trans Am anymore, at the time of the original Knight Rider, the Trans Am, was a futuristic looking car, and made KITT a bit more believable as some kind of prototype robot car. What would match up to this for the present day? Definitely not a Mustang, but I can't think of anything else. Does KITT even have to be an American car (GASP!!!)?

I guess KITT could be made from a Charger, but do you really want a cool 4-door? The new Camaro would be a great choice, but the would it just be copying transformers? How about a new Vette ZO6? I agree with you on this Zip, why a retro car like the mustang? 0 -

maybe take the latest available, and spruce up the body to make it look more futuristic? they pulled it off with Mad Max's Interceptor.0 -

Regardless of the car they choose for KITT (Knight Industries Three Thousand will be the new one), they have yet to sign "The Hoff". I guess they polled potential target audience and most said they won't go see it unless Hasselhoff is in it. 0 -
I thought that's why GM put that slot on the front end of the new Camaro?

Yup. I remember when the studio ran an advertisment in the Wall Street Journal offering $1,500 for any 1969 Dodge Charger as long as the body was decent. They didn't care if it had a power train becuase it was probably going over a cliff anyway.0 -
