NYC To Allow Illegals to Vote in Their Elections
America is so quickly being destroyed its sick. Even sicker is the complete lack of courage being shown by the citizens. There is only one solution.....to fight. At this point in American history you can only serve your country by fighting here, in your homeland, not in Iraq.

quote: February 20, 2007 -- Immigrant-rights activists yesterday renewed their push to allow legal noncitizens to vote in the Big Apple.
A bill that would grant permanent residents and other legal immigrants the right to vote in municipal elections has been stalled in the City Council since last year.
"More than 50,000 adult noncitizen taxpayers in those two districts are disenfranchised by citizenship voting laws," said Cheryl Wertz, of New Immigrant Community Empowerment, referring to today's special election for council seats in Brooklyn and Staten Island.
Councilman Charles Barron (D-Brooklyn), the sponsor of the Voting Rights Restoration Act, said that years ago, when immigrants were mostly European, they had voting rights.
"Then when the complexion of immigrants changes, then all of a sudden, the laws change," he said.
Ron Hayduk, a CUNY professor, concurred, saying immigrants voted in national elections from 1776 through 1926.
I don't see anything in there whatsoever about allowing illegal aliens to vote.0 -
That was no compliment. 0 -
because "illegal alien" isnt a term used by liberals. 0 -

Me neither. It says there's a push to allow legal non-citizens to vote but it still is NOT allowed in NYC.0 -

Or, conversely (see how you're already resorting to name-calling?), if you would have bothered to post a link to your story rather than throwing out an unfounded (and for that matter, totally incorrect based upon the article you presented) allegation, all of this would be unnecessary.
So, why do you resort to name-calling? And, more importantly, when are you going to learn how to spell?0 -

Illegals don't need to vote... Congress, the Senate and even the President has given every stinking thing but our bills.....
So yes they do have the vote, even more so than you or I....0 -

I don't think people here are arguing to let non-citizens vote. But, AlbertLum/RunForest made the very incorrect allegation that NYC was allowing illegals to vote, and when someone (me) bothered to ask him to provide a link, he resorted to his normal tactics of name-calling and berating others. Meanwhile, he did provide a link, and the link doesn't say anything remotely close to what he suggested.0 -

You'll excuse us if we don't take what you say at face-value. And, despite the fact you'll be offended, post the link to whatever it is, be it a bill or whatever, that actually says that these are ILLEGAL ALIENS.0 -
Lord, here we go again. Numerous posts by RunForest. I think I'm gonna call it a night and go elsewhere!

Don't understand the problem. New York and Chicago are famous for the number of dead people that vote every election day...... 0 -
runforest is casting a dissenting note, about the right of an illegal to vote.....when all else fails to make a diff, he posts here in a ranting tiff..... where no solace is to be found, midst grumpy responses all around....send your man in D.C. an e-mail of complaint, cause satisfaction found on this board ain't....my invictives to elected ones go lost in the mists, so its hard not to be constantly pi$$ed....where bravely a nation once called AMERICA used to go, now rises up a country called NORTEMEXICO..................the one constant is change but i am having a difficult time understanding how this avoiding illegals issue will provide a positive outcome to our society, maybe its hard to see the big picture here in jackass flats 0 -
