Desert Eagle???
I was just wondering if anyone here has a Desert Eagle from Magnum Research and how accurate it is. I am not considering getting one any time soon but I have always wondered. I read an article a while ago but forgot.

...one in .44mag. Accurate enough. Unless you have Shawrznager arms, it is a two handed gun...just for fun, nothing else.
Mine will be gone this week, theres just not much you can actually do w/one, too BIG and heavy. I got a ttl. steal on mine, so come out like a rose.
Mine loves ball, hates hollow points. Instead, I would get something else, I'd not buy another for reasons mentioned above...[;)]

Shot one in .440 Cor-bon, .44 mag, and .50AE. All plenty accurate, but not so reliable.
I got a .500S&W instead.0 -
It does tend to get fouled easily. It is a lot of fun to shoot though. Pretty accurate. It is very heavy so there is almost no recoil, even with the 44mag and 50ae. If you have the money, it is a nice one to have in your collection. Get the gold plated or tiger stripe!
BTW: I have the MR baby eagle (jericho) in 9mm, hands down the best 9mm I have ever shot!0 -
Have one in .45 and it just needs the ramp filed down a bit.. Other than that its a extremely accurate firearm with no other troubles. 0 -
I have the 50AE model and have never had a hiccup with it. Accurate, fun to shoot, reliable...like others said though, just for fun. Not much practicality. 0 -
I like the 50AE, a lot of fun to shoot, very powerful. They are useable for hunting,......more than accurate enough. As far as a carry peice, you would have to be dumb to have ever thought that is was made for that[:D] 0 -
I have shot both the 50AE, and 44Mag. They were both extremely accurate, were reliable as long as they were not fed ammo loaded with cast bullets. They are gas operated, and the lead from the cast bullets will plug the gas port. Actually if I remember correctly, in the owners manual of my 44, it said not to shoot un jacketed bullets. I had a scope on the 44, and with polygonal rifling it has it was phenominally accurate. At 100 yards off a sand bag rest, it would put some hornady 300gr. XTP's that were warm into 1.5 inches on a common occurance. 0 -
I have one in .357 Magnum. It is quite accurate, but not terribly reliable. After appx. 1,000 rounds, had to add a stiffer extractor spring and sharpened the extractor claw, and even after that it fails to extract every 50 rounds or so. I have been told that the .357 is the least reliable of the bunch, as the action works best with more energetic rounds.
