Need some advice AND MY FIRST PLUG!

I`m a long time lurker, but new poster. I feel like I already know most of the regular posters on here, even though I haven`t posted much. Today, I took my wife to the doctor as she has been coughing for over a week now, having a hard time sleeping, etc. The doctor prescribed 2 medicines, a nose spray and Allegra, both for allergies. I took the prescriptions to a CVS pharmacy just down the road from the house. The prescriptions were filled within about 20 minutes and we were on our way. Once we got home, I looked at the medicines. The spray matches the prescription and is not a factor. The other scares me. She was prescribed Allegra, and she received the generic version known as Fexofenadine. The problem is this, the bottle says: "This is a PINK, OVAL shaped TABLET imprinted with 193 on the front and R on the back." (the capitilization is on the bottle). However what we received are light orange colored pills with an underlined 06 on them. Upon discovering this, I immediately went back to the pharmacie and talked to the pharmacist. She said that they are the correct pills, but that the bottle was marked for a new batch that hasn`t come in yet. I happen to think that all prescription drugs should be marked correctly. What should we do? Should I return them and get the prescription filled somewhere else? I`m already planning to contact CVS, but I`m not sure what else, if anything I should do.

I take 14 different meds a day to stay alive ( there are those here that believe I am a waste of air) - I would never, that is NEVER, take a prescription that doesn't match the box.
If the pharmacist is wrong, your lady could get dead or worse.
Take it back and try another pharmacy.

Go back to the pharmacy with the pills, have them show you in the PDR (physistions desk reference (all pharmasists will have one)) the two medications and read on both.
This will also give cross refrences between like meds and show actuall pictures of the pills.0 -

Maybe generic version? CVS might have saved you some bucks. 0 -
1. They might have given the wrong pill.
2. When questioned, they said it was the right pill.
Sounds like a big potential lawsuit if it was indeed the wrong pill.
Sorry, been having to deal with a woman at work that is trolling for a lawsuit before she retires. The subject has been on my mind for a few days.0 -
It is definitely a generic version, however the problem is that it does not match the description of the pill which is on the bottle.

That is why I said to go back and make them show you in the PDR! It will show pics of the pills and give all cross references to all the generics!0 -
Assuming it is the right medicine, it`s still marked wrong on the bottle....that`s what the problem is. The bootle says it`s a pink pill marked 193 and R, but it`s actually an orange pill marked 06 with an underline.

I take the same thing. Mine are now the pink oval tablet R on 1 side and 194 on the other. My previous prescription was (this is from the bottle) Peach colored round tablet with a 93 on the front and 7253 on the back. I filled the first prescription on 3/20/07 and the last one on 4/19/07. I believe that there are several companies making the generic of Allegra. CVS should be able to verify the pill that they sell. 0 -
