Have you seen Alpaca Lips Now? Now that's a love story.

I like some of Redux (esp the surfboard-stealing scene), but I thought the whole playboy bunnies camp scene was irrelevant and unnecessary, and the French plantation scene was tedious.

I was watching a biography of Marlon Brando a few nights ago.
Coppola had rescued Brando's career a few years before "Apocylapse Now" by casting him in Godfather.
Coppola had to fight the studio heads to get Brando, most considered him impossible to work with, and the consensus was that Brando was washed up.
Of course, Brando got the Oscar for that film.
So, a few years later, Coppola got in touch with Brando, he figured Brando owed him a favor. He wanted Brando for a small, but pivotal role in "Apocylapse Now." He also offered Brando an astronomical, for the day, fee, I think it was $3 million.
Brando agreed to take the role
Coppola asked only two things of Brando, that he be in shape, as he was to portray a Green Beret officer. Also, he asked Brando to study Josef Conrad's "Heart of Darkness," which the film was based upon.
Brando showed up a week late, fifty pounds overweight, and had never looked at "Heart of Darkness."
This biography show then interviewed Martin Sheen, Brando's co star.
He said, that for the first week Brando was on the scene, shooting stopped, with the whole crew on the clock, while Brando and Coppola argued about the script. Sheen was in on one of these discussions.
He said Brando had a few pages of the script, but he was staring at the papers sideways. In a few minutes, Brando began folding the script up. In a minute, Brando had made the script into a hat, which he then put on his head, and Brando then looked over at Coppola with a goofy grin on his face.

I don't think Coppola ever hired Brando again.
