    They look great on paper. I don't know anybody who has ever seen one or can order one. Interesting marketing strategy.

    I hear that Taurus has done this before - announce a product way before it is available to try to build up interest in it. Regardless if they do it intentionally or not, it seems that it's working. I know lots of folks wanting to check them out, but nobody knows any dealers who can get them yet.

    American Rifleman did a cover story on this pistol. It was the Taurus entry into the U.S. Military competition for up to 650,000 .45 ACP service pistols. The U.S. Military program has sense been dropped, but supposedly Taurus is planning on marketing the pistol.

    It's unique characteristic is that that it is DA/SA, with a three position safety. In addition to the Fire and Safe position, full up releases the striker, putting the pistol back into DA for the next shot. The pistol will then be SA until it is again de-cocked.

    They are not yet available.
