Strange Week n Shop ???
O.K. , here we go , a long story , will try and do the 'short' version ...
Had issues with my 'employee' (gunsmith apprentice/sales clerk) for some time ... Seems that he would rather 'do nothing' and be drunk (started drinking some days @ 9 am)as well as other issues ...
I really got tired of the stupid bumbleing and incoherant rambeling as well as the no sense B.S. in the shop ??? we had serious words first of last week , I determined that I had just had enough , FIRED him , kicked him out (he was 'renting a room' from me , another story/issue) ... Last Friday , he moved out !!! Gone , at last ...
Now Im dealing with the 'fall-out' from all the B.S. and finding the few items that he "removed" from the shop , yet even another isuue ???
But , upside is , seems customers are generally glad that his goofy a$$ is gone , business has been really good this week so far , and Im just trying to get things done here (that should have been done) and just 'carrying on' , making the best of this ...I know Im (and the shop) are Much Better Off Now ...wish me luck ........
Just had to vent a little .....
Thanks !!!

Good luck with finding a new employee. Drinking at 9AM, and in a gunshop. I think the first time I noticed his drinking would have been a day off without pay for him, and a strong talking to, with advice that next time would be the last at my place of business. I don't mind a beer or two after closing, but not during business hours. Sounds as if he has a problem and needs help (if he wants it). 0 -
We run the shop ourselves my dad, bro and myself. We are open 7 days a week and its tough but we cant find any help . We dont trust anyone either LOL . All it takes is one jerk to ruin 83 years of a solid rep. It aint worth it. 0 -
Good for you you got rid of him.
All you need is a drunk gunsmith to destroy your reputation.0 -
I'm guessing it's the busy time of year and you would hate to lose anyone, but it's for the best. Better to do it now than to wait until after Christmas and annoy ALL the customers. 0 -
Yes indeed , not a good time of the year for any type of fubarb , but as stated , better now than later ??? and as far as the 'help' he needs , thats out of the question , seems like he really doesnt see the "problem" with the situation ??? has admitted that hes an alcholic to my best friend , but see's no problem with the related behavior and situation at hand ??? Go Figure !!!
anyhow ......what a shame ....I like an occasional drink , but geez ..
Thanks !!!
