Colt Super
Just got home in time to catch the last 10 minutes of Sands of Iwo Jima. I've watched maybe 50 times, and John Wayne still shows me what America was, and hopefully, may be again.

Stryker is still killin' the bad guys!!

The flag is going up now.

    The three surviving Iwo Jima flag raisers were also in that movie: Ira Hayes, Rene Gagnon and John "Doc" Bradley.

    Ira Hayes, Rene Gagnon and John "Doc" Bradley, they are heros. John wayne was just an actor that never served.

    Jimmy Stewart deserves mention if we are going to talk about Hollywood and war heroes. He did it and lived it AND made movies about it that were inspiring!

    Nevile Brand (wounded and decorated) was not only a hero, but a great actor--

    Jimmy Stewart was my late father-in-law's commanding officer in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He told me they would go to hell and back for him.

    I saw the movie "Flags of Our Fathers" last week. I can highly recommend watching it.

    I liked it, but in an odd way. It wasn't what I thought it was going to be. My Dad would have loved it.
