Jeans
I have been trying to find some honest to God jeans - Lee, Wrangler, Levy. The new ones you can stand in the corner because they are so stiff. The ones that take months to break in. Does anyone have a source? All I can find around here are "pre-washed".

I had the same problem until I discovered "Sonoma" jeans at Kohl's. They're a great fit and fairly priced. Try 'em! 0 -

the levi's that wall-mart has are "signature series" levi's, some kind of generic version. they don't have real levi's. 0 -

True. Several stores dont sell the top line of Levis. You can, however buy them online at http://www.levisstore.com/home/index.jsp They are imported though.0 -

I believe I have heard that the Levi's Company does not support the second ammendment. Why would I support them? Is there any truth to the rumor? 0 -
I always get mine from Farm and Fleet. never have anyproblems i perfer dark jeans. Always get a boot cut lee are my favorite. 0 -

I have the same problem , the only 'jeans' I will buy and wear are reg. LEVIS ! try the local thrift store , I but them there for less than an 8 dollar bill , some-times less and the local TSC farm stoer has a good selection ...I also wash in cold water and NEVER put them in the dryer , always 'air dry' ....Great ......

Only jeans that I have found worth a damn are Carharts. Wore them through all kinds of crap and they keep lasting. They are also very stiff when you first buy them. 0 -
I havent worn any brand of jeans besides Levi's since I was 15yrs old. There is a store here that sales Levi's and Nike shoes along with other major brands. A pair of Levi's are about $47.00 a pair. Thats expensive but I wear the classic fit with tapered leg and you cant find them at Wally World. My wife bought me 3 pair of stone washed and 2 pair of the classic color just before Christmas. Seems I wear my Khaki 911 pants almost as much as my Levi's. Amazon.com will help you find them. Good Luck!! 0 -
Try out the Wrangler 13MWZ Pro Rodeo jeans. I've been wearing them for more than 20 years on the trail and in the saddle.
You can usually find them at farm supply stores and western outfitters.0 -

i get the redhead jeans for bass pro shop they are fairly inexpensive and pretty durable. at least for me. 0 -
ugh. i hate the stiff pants.. makes me feel like i cant move, i dont like prewash, because i give my pants some wear and tear.. There was a store locally that was selling pants for 4 dollars a pair, so i grabbed some of those up... Just how i like em! 0 -

That is true. If you look at a pair of Levi's from Wally World, you will notice they don't have the Levi's "v-shaped stitching" (or whatever they call it) on the back pockets. Wife bought me a pair last year and I hate them. Nothing like "regular" Levi's. My son and I have started wearing "Red Head" jeans from Bass Pro and "Duck Head" from Goody's. If you can catch them on sale, they are very inexpensive, and they wear great.0 -

What has been missed in this series of technical discussions about "Jeans"...is that a woman asked the initial question....And there is truly few things in life as inspirational as a woman in well-fitted jeans,carrying a weapon of choice....

Years ago we used to take them out of the washer - after the spin dry - and put them on damp for the first wear. After an hour or so they'd be dry and would be the best fitting jeans you owned. I have no idea if that still works or not - what with all of the 'newest manufacturing techniques/chemicals, etc. - it used to give you a better fit than if they were tailored just for you!
It was an especially good technique for 'breaking in' riding jeans. Everyone I knew had an old saddle that was used for just that.[:D]0 -
I buy Mexican made Shrink to Fit Levi 501s at Fred meyer and I just bought 3 pair at 29.99 each 0 -
