Need Help, Home Defense Handgun Safe

this is what i was looking at, it even bolts down (woundering if they mean screw down) if you know let me know.

this is what i have now, i broke one key, and the other key won't work cuz the locking mechanism won't work.

    That is about perfect for a HOME DEFENSE handgun as you will have to be able to hit the bad guy in the head with it if ever truly get into a situation where you need the contents of that box!!! Arggghhhh!

    Don't know about the S&W.

    Saw one at Dicks Sporting Goods that had holes in it for securing it to whatever you wanted to. You ran the bolts through the back of it much like a breaker box or something to that effect. Then the padded mount snapped back into place. Seeing as how the holes were only about big enough for a 3/8 lag bolt or screw. It would be easy to rip from a wall with bare hands or a screw driver if mounted to dry wall.

    I like the gunvault models a lot better. The finger keypad is much more intuitive and easy to use without looking. Just search 'gunvault' here or with a web search. The 'mini' is good for one handgun plus some accessories. The 'multi' holds two handguns plus accessories.

    Take a squint at the DAC Sportsafe...about $50-70 depending on where you buy it. Comes with one bolt down mounting plate extras are about $10.00 - I have one in every vehicle, one in my camping trailer, and one in the bedroom.

    Programmable tactile keypad - you can even input Temporary codes for visitors to get at their guns, then cancel them after it is no longer needed. Has a dim light that illuminates the interior for five seconds, so you can see which way to grab your piece, but will not backlight you. Shock sensor that is adjustable from little bump to hammer blow, sets off a AWFUL screecher. AWKWARD Carry handle + heavy weight makes it hard for folks to run offwith it, yet handy to transfer to your car or room. Door springs open upon right code, wrong code entered three times activates a time delay feature - makes it hard for someone to get in - takes a really long time to go through the combinations, of which there are very many. Unit can be powered by 12V from vehicle, and has internal batteries that last me nearly a year with no outside help. Key to get in even if electronics fail or batteries go bad.
