Dunno - have never had a cook time over about 12 hours...suppose it would be OK if you started near 11 O'clock News...longer time cooking was better neaarly every time we did it. Make sure you cook the meatballs on a cookie sheet for an hour or so before you put 'em in the pot, then just throw in the unheated sauces - should wake you up around Six/Seven, with yummy smells!!!

Since it will be unsupervised for your sleeptime, you will want to make sure there is enough sauce to cover the balls, and you will probably want to leave it on "LOW" overnight. Should come out fine.
First thing in the Morning, use your baster (if you have one) or a big spoon if you don't, and take out some of the grease that rises to the top. Then give a careful stir, and kick it up to "HIGH" till you leave for the Luncheon.

    Good Luck!!

And the Contadina brand already has the Pineapple, the Onions, and Red and Green Bell peppers in it - don't overdo it!! Since you might take two pots, do one "Hot" with peppers, and one Not.

Try it first my way, then try adding - you might find it is just fine the easy way!!

    Thanks.

I looked in three stores for the Contadina sauce, but none had it.

The closest Costco is about fifty mile drive, so I got Kikkoman Sweet 'n Sour.

Do you remember the old Contadina commercial??

"Contadina Tomato Paste is the best on Broadway, you can bet your boots, oh my honey babe"

Hey Doug - try Safeway - next to barbeque sauces, in a regular size can with a green and red label.

Well, what is the news about your gathering/the dish I started you on - if that is it you posted, you had a LOT of veggies in the crockpot, and not so much meatballs - did it sell?
