    You don't understand...

It's "Do as I say, not as I do". Old Al's royalty, you know.

Gore is an Elitist with a "Sun King Complex" as described by Louis Keoning, that's what goverment is all about. Bush and Gore are both cut from the same cloth. W went to grade school in the east in a Limo. The Joe six pac cowboy image is Hollywood. It is estimated that a demo presidential candidate will need a war chest of 20 million by June of 2007 for a remote chance. Republican war chests are estimated in the hundreds of million per candidate.

Do we need campaine reform, I'll answer that with "of course". Republicans, Democrats are all about money.

How much does his house consume compared to other similarly sized buildings?

How much work does he do out of his home, necessitating more power usage?

How often is his home used for business?

Would it not be more pointed to ask what he drives rather than where he lives?

To pooh-pooh his large house seems rather Democrat of all of you.

The man's family is rich - are you proposing the rich live like we do regardless of what they can afford?

they're all a bunch of hypocrites. they drive to their sanctimonious "end global warming" dinners and events in big SUVs or limos that get terrible gas mileage, fly all around the world on their private jets that pollute the air (and get even worse mileage) to prattle on about how they care about the environment, how to reduce one's "carbon footprint" and other such tripe, go home to their extravagant homesteads that suck up coal-based electricity like there's no tomorrow, etc. Of course, heaven forbid they lead by example, which is what they would do if they TRULY cared about this most recent cause de celebre. Instead they just use it as a means to feel better about themselves, make themselves seem more important than they really are, make themselves appear bigger and better than they know they are. They want to benefit "the planet" at everyone's expense except their own.

The hell with them and a pox on all their houses.

When I see him put in Geothermic heating and clear view solar panel windows, I will believe it.[:D]

Holy s***! That all sounds almost too good to be true, but if it is, wow! I can't believe that he doesn't have solar panels on the roof and all the rest of it. Good freaking night that's a huge amount of juice.

I was shocked when my electric bill (I have electric heat) was $201 this past month. I have all compact flourescent bulbs and I think they make a big difference. Wow.

Thanks for posting this. I do think much of what he says is right as far as doing some simple common sense things to cut back, but I am shocked at how he's not following his own advice.

I've read that he "gets around town" in either a Suburban or a Hummer.
Might not be true, but I tend to believe it is since he travels exclusively by private jet when air travel is required.
They should just call him "BIGFOOT" in honor of his carbon footprint![}:)]

EMM-This has nothing to do with wealth. I'm not poo-pooing the size of his house It has everything to do with being a hypocrite. My boss has 2 homes of about the same size and I don't begrudge him because of his success. This has nothing to do with the haves and the have-nots and class warfare. This has everything to do with somebody who is constantly criticizing this country and it's people about their lifestyle (SUV's, energy use, ect.) while he doesn't practice what he preaches. Could he not get by with a smaller more efficient home? I know he has security concerns but does he need to travel in a motorcade in SUV's? I think he would be taken more seriously if he wasn't such a hypocrite.

Yea, well I just don't think he is.... It takes a lot of light to see who got the votes on those unpunched ballots. Give the man a break. After all he is now ahead by one vote and is now entitled to be the former president of the 2000 election. He was a good one too...Didn't mess up a thing... Thanks Al!!!

That is correct, the mans family is rich, he should be more able to install the latest energy saving devices, and set the example.
Just like he wants the USA to do with the Kyoto accord.

There are just some things that one should remain mute on rather than make excuses for. This is one of them.[;)]

We have a BINGO!! You took the words right out of my mouth. I am shocked (not jokingly) that he doesn't AT LEAST have solar panels AND a large wind generator. No, they aren't cheap but not only does he have the means to do it, but the government also will help out with the costs of setting up a wind generator. I've seen private citizens with them around here!!

Not only is he a hypocrite, but obviously he's not very bright as well. If he invested in those options (which he can do), he would not only cover himself from these accuasations, but also save 30 grand in utility bills a year and maybe even send power back to the utility company if he went all out! Man, what a joke. Just another elitist. [V]

Oh wait, it just occured to me... He probably doesn't want to look out his window and see those big, bulky, tacky things by his home. What was I thinking? [xx(][V]

Actually he could do a lot with his hvac controls and his lighting, things like motion sensor lighting, zone control hvac, can save a lot of energy, just changing your light bulbs from 60w to 40w will conserve energy. My bet is he does nothing.[xx(]

exactly. the cost to him relative to his wealth and income of becoming "kyoto compliant" or "reducing his carbon signature" or whatever the current trendy term is would be infintesimal compared to what the same process would cost an average family.

But once again, it's not about results or leading by example, like I said. It's about control, envy of success, post-modern Leftist guilt, control of OTHERS lives by the anointed (THEM), and creeping Big Brotherism.

    I agree!
If a person runs for president and can't carry their home state, they should be automatically disqualified!!
Just my opinion of course.........."The rules of Ed"

the pisser of it is, I actually LIKE Algore. his reputation as a stiff is much undeserved. He has a great, self-deprecating sense of humor.

Of course, I wouldn't vote for him in a thousand years, but I still think he'd be fun to hang out with.
