Well, they could always use fixed wing aircraft that can fly high enough to be out of range for the shoulder fired missiles.

Who knows, maybe they'll bring back skyhook C-130s and forget the helicopters.

I say deploy the BUFFs to Diego and reintroduce the "Big Belly" mods used in Vietnam to allow the 52 to carry 105 500 lb bombs. 24 hour air coverage, and if they carry JDAM's, pin point attack capability.

It's going to take massive air strikes to get the job done, and mop up afterwards.

Yeah, because massive firepower applied to an urban center did the Germans a lot of good at Stalingrad.

And it was a rousing success for the Russians in Grozny.

Disagree with you on that, John --

They didn't have the ordinance we have today.

Hiroshima and a smart Japanese Emperor stopped that war cold.

It's not the only option we have, but at least it would keep our choppers from being hit.

Deploy BUFFs to Diego, load them with AGM-86A's, and unleash hell.

I read somwhere where in the first Gulf War they put chain guns on OH-58s and used them pretty effectively. They are smaller and more manuverable in an urban enviornment.

    It's Bush's fault.
