email from a soldier's wife
I recently received an email from a girl I went to college with who ended up marrying a soldier who's been in Iraq and just got redeployed recently. He's special forces and an all around decent guy and committed professional and patriot.
Anyway, I replied back to her that I appreciated what he was doing and the sacrifice that she and other military spouses make and that I supported Mike (her husband) and the rest of the military and their mission. This is her response:
Thanks so much for your e-mail. It's great to hear from you!!! I truly appreciate your support for what Michael's doing over there. Sometimes I feel like all the sacrificing we have to do is in vane....because no one seems to give a crap anymore. But Thank You!

I tell you what, it's so maddening that all the people against the war effort get all the media attention. You can tell her that her husband is in my prayers and tell him to stay safe.0 -
Special Forces spouses have a particularly hard time due to OPSEC and PERSEC -- they don't really know where you are and what you are doing. My prayers go out for our brother Mike and his wonderful wife. 0 -
Let her know there are still tons of folks that care about our troops over there and support them. 0 -
It is the sacrafice those brave Men and Women make everyday that give the rest of us piece of mind to ride a bus, or take a walk to the store. My brother in law is going over for the 3rd time this July. Keep up the support..... 0 -

Wow Mike, Thank you! I really enjoyed reading that post and the responses from other people. I know there's still supporters out there...I just don't get to hear them very often. All I hear is what's on tv (bulls*h*i*t) and then other military wives...but we're all in the same boat together.0
