Truck Freight Question
I understand that the word "pool" when used for shipping means the Seller loads all the goods for a area and delivers the goods. I have done pool buys before. Liquor stores will pool buy and the wholesale licensee for liquor would deliver the goods at a set price for delivery to the retailer licensee. Some years ago Graf & Sons (ammo and firearm related) would do a pool delivery from Mo to Ca for a set price. My question is; is there any other meaning to "pool" for method of delivery and or charging for delivery? Thanks in advance for any information.

"pool" = a hole in the ground, filled with water, into which you pour money.
You're welcome.

I have shipped a lot of ltl/common carrier shipments, and never heard of "pool", perhaps this is with a company truck?

I know from the Container shipping end of cargo business, it was called "LTL" = Less (than) Trailer Load. These loads were from Freight Consolidation Firms. Multipleshippers would send one cargo container to a common destination port or city. 0
