Pikes Peak - definitely. Drop me a line when you're here, I live right next to it. 0 -
can i just show up and drive to the top ? is it closed during portions of the year ? i heard it was almost totally paved now ? 0 -
In 1954, my Dad took me up the Pike's Peak run in his '54 Road Race Lincoln.

I have driven to the top of Pike's Peak twice. Last time being about 10 years ago when I was visiting at friend stationed at Ft. Carson. Don't know if it is all paved now or not; heard that it was going to be. Definately worth your time to travel up it. 0 -
...Very worth it. In all seriousness, check your truck over BEFORE you head up, and AFTER you get down...[;)]

It costs money to get to the top. I've been to both several times, helps that I have many friends in Woodland Park and I live in Denver.
Both are closed during the winter.
Both are awesome trips. On Mt. Evans, you literally feel like you're on top of the world. You can even see how the horizon is curved, not straight.
If you live at sea level, you might want to acclimate yourself in Denver for a day or so before making the trip.0 -
Weird.
I've lived in Colorado since the day I was born and have never been to the top of Pike's Peak.
I just realized that.
Don't hold me back, Mama....
I got some livin' to do!0 -
Lived in Colorado Springs for 15 years, made the trips several times. To sum it up in one word, AWESOME. Have a niece that works at the visitor center on Pike Peak now, she really enjoys it. 0 -
Went to Pikes when i was five and I was pretty inpressed. Went back a while later still awesome. 0 -

Yep, only if you and your vehicle can make it all the way up [}:)]. We're going there on Labor Day Weekend.
I have a co-worker that runs the Pikes Peak Marathon - too crazy for me.0 -
I've been to Colorado Springs twice in my life, but to date I've never seen the top of Pikes Peak. The first time it was night time, and the second time there was cloud cover over the top third of the mountain. 0 -
Go see the B-52 on the Air Force academy campus.
If you get downtown some night, go to a bar called Rumbay on Tejon st. Upstairs there's a karaoke bar that my best friend Fast Eddie bartends at. Tell him Dr. Detroit sent you.0
