Used to have a bunch back where I grew up. Since the move the coyotes have taken over and I here all the birds are long gone[:(] Great memories[:)]

The pheasant hunting around here has been in the toilet for at least 15 years. Too many coyotes, fox and skunks and every farmer burns ditches at exactly the wrong time.

Pheasant season opens the 27 of Oct here in Iowa. When I was a kid here in southern Iowa you coud fill your quota by noon each day of pheasant and quail. Now days, you just walk your butt off and be lucky to kick up one rooster. Too many hawks, coyotes, and even turkeys have destroyed nests and eaten the young. But most of all I blame the CRP ground for the depletion of our game birds.
