chronographs

Looking into maybe getting a chrono. Cabelas has them for about $100 for a good basic model (from what I understand.)

any better deals out there? Maybe on GB?

  I am getting to the point where I need a chronograph for my reloading. One of the big reason is for loading subsonic ammo for my .300 Whisper. I did a little research and there are a lot of options and choices. I have never used one and know nothing about them. I dont need to do anything fancy I just want to be able to be able to measure loads to keep subsonic while getting as much speed as I can. Unless I am wrong I think a chronograph will help do that.
  
  I am looking at these chronographs. Is there a reason I should go with a "loaded" $200 one vs the a good one that runs just under $100. I am looking at the ones from Midway since I get a discount there but I would like to spend my money wisely if there is a better choice.

  We think we need a chronograph. Does anyone have one for sale? What chould we look for? Costs?

  Looks like a pretty basic and reliable chrony to me. Is it the F1 Chronograph that you are looking at? If it is, then check out Midwayusa.com because if I remember right, it's about $10 cheaper from there. I have been considering getting one and I have decided that when I finally do, the F1 is the one for "me" anyways.

  I got a Competition Electronics ProChrono Digital Chronograph
  for about $100 from Midway. It is a good value, easy to set up and use and the only problem I've had is that I keep forgeting to turn it off when I put it away and have to replace the 9-volt battery. If I had it to do over, I would buy a model that has an Infrared "IR" or other remote controls so I don't have to wait for the range to go cold in order to adjust it or reset it. The model is worth the money as is though.

  I have a beta master chrony made by the same people that make the F-1 it has a 60 shot memory and a remote face that hooks to the chronograph by wire you can have the face sitting on your bench so you do not have to get up to get the readings
  
  Check sportsmans guide they sell the f-1 for $79 if your a member it is $71

  Pact=+1
  Cords are long enough to set the chrony in front of your shooting bench, the skyscreens are wide enough that you have to try to hit them, and the sensors are good enough to clock a BB or a 218Bee.
  I've had mine for almost 12 years, and it only takes a 9volt battery to make it work.
