Anyone use GEMoney credit from BudsGunshop?
I plan on purchasing a pistol from Buds, and was thinking of using their "no interest for 90 days" option. Anyone here use it, if so any pros or cons? Thanks in advance

If you cant pay in cash, You dont need it. 0 -
If it is like a typical 90day no interest plan, you will be just fine if the entire debt is paid for in full within the 90days. Otherwise the interest will accrue.
Go for it, then about 10days before the 90 days is up, call the credit company and confirm the amount still owed. Then pay it off, either over the phone or Money order via first class mail.
Sending a money order is like sending cash. They know it's good (certified) and they don't have to wait for a personal check to clear. They should recieve the MO well before the end of the 90 day period.0 -

If you cannot answer the question that was asked.......move on. You do not know me or my financial situation, nor is it any of your business. Yes, I can pay cash, but prefer to stretch it out interest free if possible......which again, is none of your business.0 -

If there is ever a no interest credit avail, we take it. We bought our TV via HHGregg card with no interest for 1 year, our furniture was the same. Everything gets paid off a month before the time is up.
As long as it is paid off by the time it needs to be, it's all fine. Basically free layaway, but you get to bring the merchandise home.0 -
Thanks cubslover. I've never applied for anything like this online and am a bit nervous. But it sounds like an easy way to go. We also bought our 42" LCD TV from Sears and my Kawasaki 700 ATV that way. Let my money stay in the bank and earn interest. [:D] 0 -
If it is GEMoney, you will probably be directed to another site (GEMoney) to fill out the application and get approval. You will probably have the option to have all of the forms snail-mailed to you as well if you are worried about sending out your information on the web. 0 -

...and you must be a 14-year old punk who couldn't borrow money to buy a gun if you wanted to. So no....you don't know the answer to his first question. So yes...you should have kept your mouth shut, public forum or not.
Nevadastars...haven't used the GEMoney thing, but it sounds like a typical lay-a-way that lots of stores use. Except, as Cubs said, you get the merchandise before it is paid for. And Jacob...YES, I have bought LOTS of guns on lay-a-way. Nothing wrong with that at all.0 -

That's my thinking too iluvguns. It is hard for me to believe someone with that kind of attitude has made it through 3600+ posts on this forum without being banned. I have noticed the moderation here is shall we say.....very lax.
Anyway, I may just pay cash for the gun because I'm not sure how long the credit check will take, and the gun is on special with "free shipping while supplies last". They say 7-10 days before I get the credit card. Soooooo, I will probably give Buds a call Monday morning to be safe.0 -

I dont need to borrow money, and if I did, Dad would lend it to me.

this coming from a 14 year old with no bills no worries just liven at home with mom and dad. some of us have the pleasure of having to raise a family, buy food, close or diapers for the kids and god knows what other bills that just pop up and dont have a choice some times but to use a layaway type program to get what we want.

All these years of keeping my credit in good form was for nothing, wasted in vain.
Thanks kid for helping me see the light.
Actually this is a good way to buy guns or anything, drop a bundle from an account or paycheck or pay a little a week or month. I'll take the interest free payments.0 -

Oh trust me, I know, but, still, cousins have got ruined by credit cards, just a little advice, ive seen it and dont wish it upon anyone, so, my WHOLE family goes by the rule. if you cant pay for it, DONT get it. (Unless you know for a fact nothing is going to happen and take that "extra" cash up..)0 -

Dang Jacob, I'm sorry. I forgot. You have all the wisdom of a 14-year old. When I forget how smart you 14-year old kids are today, all I need to do is go ask my son how much he knows and how little I know, and I can find out all over again. Please forgive me. I am about to buy a house. Do you have any financial advice you can give me? How about the best place to invest about $10K I have coming out of a CD next week?
One of these days, I hope you realize you don't have a clue. When you move out, get your own place, start a family, and don't have daddy to run to to borrow money, then give me a call and we can talk about money. Until then, you need to keep your mouth shut and learn something. Dang! I forgot already that you 14-year olds know everything!0 -
I dont see anything wrong with putting a gun on layaway or some sort of financing for it. Probably 25% of my firearms i had put on layaway.. I dont need then, but would like to have them, so why not lay them away or 90 days same as cash. 0
