Refrigerator trouble
Having trouble with my fridge. The vent in the back of the fridge, that's connected to the cold air vent in the freezer, keeps leaking or condensing and getting everything in the fridge wet. The freezer is still fine, nothing thawed out or anything in there, just water in the fridge compartment. The vent is not blocked in either the fridge or the freezer. It's a Whirlpool Designer Style model.
Any help or input would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like your door gasket might not be sealing all the way, and allowing humid room temp air in, which would condense on that vent.
Just a thought!0 -

listen for an air leak around the door gasket. Another test is to close the door on a dollar bill. If the gasket is intact, the dollar bill will be hard to pull out. if there's a leak in the gasket, you can pull out the dollar easily.0 -
Check the drain pipe that drains into the floor pan. If it's plugged it could cause problems. 0 -
The drain line from the freezer is stopped up. This will make the water go into the fridg. Unplug the fridge. Take everything out of the freezer and remove the back plastic panel(be careful not to damage the fan). You'll probably have to remove the bottom plastic panel first(the one in the bottom of the freezer and you may have to take both side panels down but it's only a few screws). Once the back panel is out you should see the freezer coil(looks like a radiator) and a plastic drain pan underneath it. Most of the time a garden pea or similar falls into the hole and stops it up(don't ask how this happens but I've seen it several times) or the water just freezes in the pan. Either way unclog the drain and pour hot water down it to make sure it is unclogged(not much though the pan under the fridge is small). Please let me know if this helps.
Thanks

Sweet.
Thanks.
I'll look into it if it keeps up. Hasn't been acting up today.0
