Did Remington Improve on the 710's???

I see that they have brought them back this year...did they make some improvements on them, or are they still the junk they were a few years ago? Thanks!

    the way i understood it no,but i have not read the catalog for this year.most gun mags prefer the stevens 200. my son has a 710 does great but he is like his grandpa a plus shooter so he makes it look better.

    If you talk to a Remington Rep they will claim that the New 710 is not to be compared to the Plagued original 710.
    I am just not interested enough in bargain grade rifle to give them a try.

    I am one that never had problems with my original 710. Bought it right out of college for hunting (on a budget). It served me well for 4 years. Now I use my grandfathers old Remington 760 Gamemaster.

    and I am a Remington fan
    If you aren't serious enough to buy a savage or stripped ADL you shouldnt be in the woods
    Buy a $70 Mosin instead

    I've never been impressed with them. Seen the stock break apart on a 300 win mag. You know 710 upside down spells OIL.[:D]

    The only reason I ask is b/c of the area we relocated our business too. We moved from the wealthy DC metro area to an area that has more poor folks than wealthy ones. There's a lot of money moving into the area but I'm thinking that a lot of people might be looking for entry level guns in this market....some kind of package deal with a scope included. I could be mistaken, but this is the impression I'm getting...I doubt many of the locals have $1200.00 to sink into a nice rifle and scope.

    I don't know about wholesale but the retail pricing I've seen puts the Savage package guns a few dollars less than the Rem 710 package.
    Throw the Stevens 200 in the mix and I can't see why anyone would want the Remington.

    I'd have to agree Eric.

    Rem. would have had to improve the 710 a whole buch before I'd stock it over the Stevens 200. I guess the only drawback to the 200 is it doesn't have the name recognition as the Rem. does, which as you know that alone will sell that rifle. Sales are good, but it's the ones that come back or have complaints attached to them that turn into a real PIA, but again, you already know this.
