Kubota 50 hour service
Stopped at the local Kubota dealer to see what they charged to do the 50 hour maintenance ( change oil, change front differential grease, change hydralic fluid transmission, adjust clutch if needed, tighten wheel bolts and check loader bolts, tension alternator belt, clean radiator screen. ) Well it was too much... $475 bucks.. I stopped and got oil, had the oil filter, got some 80/90 gear oil and did all but the tranny fluid in 30 mins. Cost $46 bucks. I still need a $35 dollar hydralic filter and 7 gal hydralic fluid $ 45 bucks. Total $126 Plus my one hour to do it.[:D][:D]

That's why I do the stuff at home myself.
Labor is a huge cost anymore.
Usually you can figure 1/4 to 1/3 of the cost will be for parts.
The rest is labor.
OUCH.

They quoted 6 hours at $55 bucks an hour. WTH do they do the other 5 hours? Cripe I drained the front axle and oil at the same time, went in and drank a beer, came out and finished it up in less than an hour. 0 -
They work on other peoples' things and charge you all for the total combined time. Sounds like a good plan to me. 0 -

When I was working for the city, we had 4 of those Kubotas. We would clean the radiator daily. However, once a month we did all the work you have listed above, took about 1.5 hours for 4 mowers.
One those mowers, you should watch the front deck wheels as the bearings will go out of them. Due to a poor design, the front bar running across the deck with break at one of the welds. The deck is a very poor design because it doesn't allow the deck to flex, they are so rigid that it will eventually reach the yield point of a weld or the metal bar supports. If you are running it 8 hours a day, you may want to go purchase a few of these items in order to not get stuck with to much down time.0 -
It's funny you brought this up. It's that time again to do a complete filter/oil change on our JD 7210. I'm sure there are more expensive ones out there to service, but you wouldn't believe what it cost to service this one.[B)] We were a little taken back at the cost to service this 7210, coming from servicing the likes of JD 4040's, 4440's, etc.
Right under $300 for filters.
$110 for both engine filters.
$75 for the 3 cab filters.
$100 for the fuel,oil, hydraulic, and transmission filters.
And that's not counting the 20 quarts of engine oil or the 15 gals. of hydraulic/transmission oil.[:0] Around $450-500 for all and that's doing it myself.
Oh well, what are you gonna do, it's the life of the tractor. These things are too expensive to not take care of.[;)]
