Brought it home....
After kicking myself around on figuring out a caliber, I went to the shop. They didn't have a 223 or 22-250. They had a 243 among others.
The others were on back order. So I went around to their reloading supplies. The 6mm bullets are about the same price as the 22cal's. Brass is only about $4 more per hundred.
So I took the 243 home. I knew I'd kick myself in the butt if I didn't and got a chance to go on a rifle hunt somewhere.
I also went out and bought the supplies to built the electronic bore cleaner. I'll see how it does on the ole ML and 22. Thanks Bloviator.

I'll get pics up when I get the scope mounted. It's a 6.5-20x50 with a big long removable sunshade. Can't wait.0 -

[:D] Don't do that.0 -
I've been tossing around the thought of a .223,22-250 as my next rifle purchase but when I look at what the .243 can do it appears to be an excellent choice. 0 -
Gotta admire a man who listens to the voice of reason. Especially when it is mine![^][^][^][^][^][:p] 0 -

You're in the same boat I was in. I went from a 243, to 25-06, to 22-250, to 223, back to 22-250, back to 223, to 243....done.0 -
Shoulda bought it in an encore - that way, any caliber is just a couple hundred away... 0 -
.243. You chose wisely. Congratulation. 0 -

Cubs...sssweet!
Here is a pic of scopes for you...and add this emailed coupon...you will be set. Coupon code - OPTIC3002 - $25 off any scope over $300!
http://www.midwayusa.com/epromolisting.exe/showpage?promotionid=148455&eblastid=11820071&custnum=100689420
So...you could buy a Nikon Monarch 6.5-20 for $325 + shipping (would be $469!!! + shipping).0 -
243 will be my next rifle. 0 -
Thanks for the coupon Loco. It's kinda hard to justify a $400 scope on a $250 gun. The last scope I bought was a Barska, I've been really happy with it. It's just as clear and bright as my Nikon. I ordered their 6.5-20 for this one, we'll see how it does, if it takes a crap I'm only out $40.
Thanks again though.0 -
But it would only be a $325 scope.

What .243 did you get? Seemed like you were thinking a savage? 0 -
Good to hear.[8D]
I believe you ended up with the best caliber for your intended/possible future uses. Now go get some Federal 55gr'ers and have some fun. They're real screamers![:D]
Congrats!
