Just shows how little we put into our space program... how many of us are driving 21 year old cars? The space shuttle was great for its day but is obsolete. Hope the old gal makes it up and back in one piece! I was in 1st grade when Challenger blew up, but remember it well...

I have an 83 ElCamino, an 84 Blazer 4x4, an 86 GMC Jimmy 4x4, and a 69 GMC shortwide, maybe GM should make space shuttles.[:D]

I was in Aerospace machining at the time and our company actually made quite a few fuel system parts and other parts for NASA to use on the shuttles. Bad Bad day in Jan. 86' when the Challenger exploded.

Sure is hard to believe , It is also hard to believe when I left the company I would move South. I opened a business in a town that one of the crew members ( Dr. Ron McNair ) lived in. I was at the monument the day it was dedicated in his honor. I met his widow ( who lives in Houston, Tx. It was a very humbling experience.

I still have a VHS tape of the incident. Y'all seen how they " Blew Up " and vaporized ??? Good read at the end. I suppose the impact did the final blow.

I was drivin a furniture truck up US 1 In Jupiter Florida when she BLEW!!! It was a clear, cold, "blue-bird" day.People were pullin-over to watch it, so i had to keep a sharp eye on the road, i looked up and ...The "solids" were goin stray from the shuttle, in 2 min i was at the shop i was working for, and everyone was outside in the parkin-lot sobbin...I'll never forget it...

Spryor, you watching it on NASA channel?

Do you ever look at the pass over times in you area and watch the SS and ISS go over? They don't post SS time until after orbit is attained

just the other night we were able to see the ISS for 6 minutes horizon to horizon and last time shuttle was up we had a clear skies and got a good show
