My Christmas present!!
Like I said in an earlier post. Me and my girl do a small Christmas by ourselves and exchange our gifts. Well, I didn't think that I would be getting mine till around my birthday because she had told me that she could finish paying it off then and that it would be my birthday/Christmas present. Well, she lied. I got it yesterday!![:D] It's not the nicest looking rifle I have ever seen, but it will get the job done just like they will and it was very affordable for a rifle in it's caliber. Sorry for the crappy pictures.

I'm glad to see that the older classic cartridges are still in favor with some shooters. I'd hate to see the H&H cartridges or any of the other classic African DG cartridges fall by the wayside. It looks like the .300 H&H is going that way unfortunately. Now, on to the finer things in life!

The stock is for a Mauser that was made by another company.

Stocks like this one are custom made, precisely hand fitted for a specific rifle and aren't usually found as a finished separate item that can be purchased. The blank alone can run somewhere between $800.00 and $1,000.00 depending on the figure in the blank. Some wood sellers are raising their prices more rapidly these days as the supply of exceptional wood dwindles due to demand. Finished inletted, bedded, finished shaped, sanded and oil finish with medium complex checkering; probably somewhere around $3500.00 to $5,000.00 and a year wait time. A few of the very well-known stockmakers get a lot more than that because of their name.

Squirrels for sure. Maybe coyote, but I am not sure if I would have enough gun for them.[:D]
