.50 a pound.....i pay as much as gas is a gallon for em here in shreveport

    Welcome Phillip[8D]

South Bossier here. Savoie's on Jimmie Davis Hwy. had them for $1.29 cooked and .99 cents, to go, last weekend.

Around here, we call 'em crawfish or mudbugs, and I just can't get enough of them.
I ate crawfish all last weekend and have plans to go to another crawfish boil this coming up week end as well. This is Louisiana after all.[;)]

Crawfish. Best when boiled like they are supposed to be (you gotta be from Louisiana), with good friends, and a tub full of Miller pony's. Gonna do 80#'s this weekend for the first summer party/birthday party.
Ramtin, you and yours are welcome to come. It's BYOB and speedos required for the men folk.[:D] The pool is open!!

Crayfish and mudbugs are what they are called here. Figure about two and a half pounds per person if you are throwing a feed. Add boiled corn and man, it's time to eat.[:D]

I was at a "crayfish" boil once. Best things I ever ate!!
The guy who did it, told me the secret is to rinse the bugs 4-5 times in clear water to flush all the mud out of them. He boiled them in cajun spiced broth with corn, onions, potatos, garlic, and a bunch of other stuff! We ate them on newspaper spread across a picnic table. Damn, they are good!!

Mostly crawdad, but where I grew up (Houston) I heard them called just about every name. We never ate them much, mainly used them as bait, but lately when ever I go back to visit someone brings a large cooler full of them to every family gathering. They are good, but I still will not suck the heads.
