Sandy and the doctor
Some of you will recall, sometime back, Sandy dislocated a toe on her left foot. The doctor put it back in place and told her it would take a long time for the ligaments to shrink back down and make the toe stable again. Until that happened, she would experience some swelling and pain.
All of that was true.
You may also know, unlike me, Sandy has neither a temper or gets mad and says curse words. In fact, in 35 years, I've heard three curse words out of her mouth. All of them to me, and all of them well deserved on my part.
It's also a fact that stroke victoms have impulse control problem with verbage and language. Actually, the problem is that they just spit out the thought without running through their internal thoughts or filters. This can be absolutely amusing at times.
That all brings us to the doctors office yesterday. As he's looking over her record, he decides he wants to see how the toe is coming along. He takes her shoe of and says, "Well, the swelling has gone down".
She says, "Yes."
He says, "Does it hurt much."
She says, "Sometimes, but not much."
He pulls on the toe and she says, "Ouch!"
He says, "Did that hurt?" (Pretty dumb question)
She says, "Yes."
He pulls it again and she now yells, "Ouch!"
He says, "I thought it would be better than that by now."
He reaches towards it again, and the filter bypass kicks in. She moves her foot away and says, "Pull it again and I'll kick you in the damn teeth!"
I love her![:D]

I had a line with any dr that seen me, and they all knew it and knew darn well I meant it when I said...
"You hurt me, and I hurt you".....
And that came about from a dr who will never forget the woman who kicked him...
Good to hear Sandy told him to not do it again....She needs to let that "filter" stay off from now on...[}:)][}:)]0 -
