Being a Model 70 Featherweight collector. I am very picky when it comes to them.[}:)]
The first thing that I did not like is the dark vertical line on the stock. Someone must have been late for lunch when it was time to inspect that one.
Controlled Round Feed (claw extractor) or Push Feed?
I will keep an eye on it for a few days.0 -
Just sold one, very nice rifles,,,,mine was 06 also with scope, $675, I think buyer got a deal, but thats what one dollar auctions are about...Good luck,,,nambu 0 -
LesWVa, its a push feed. Yes the dark line does detract from the stock a bit, but at the same time the way it is its kinda neat. [:0] 0 -
I always thought them were beautiful looking rifles.

Had one, shot it three times and for only being an -06 kicked to hard, and no I am not a wuss. I hunt everything with my 375 H&H, but the Win just seemed to crack you instead of pushing like the magnum. It could have been that particular gun, I have a model 70 Ranger in 270 that kicks the hell out of you off the bench. My step-brother has a model 70 wintuff in 270 that shoots like a 222. They are a beautiful gun though.
I like your quote Jon, Jack O'Connor and that quote, is the reason my father bought his 375 H&H back in 1970. An Austrian built Parker-Ballard, I just had it all redone for him for his birthday, and now he is scared to take it hunting unless he will be in a stand.0 -

Very neat present. I am sure that he really appreciated that[;)]. I have always liked this quote and I have a Remington 700 Mountain rifle in .270 Winchester(my favorite rifle and caliber). Well, I just put a .375 H&H on layway(Remington 700 SPS DG), my Christmas/Birthday present from my girlfriend. It's not the nicest looking rifle, but it is the most affordable I have seen and it will get the job done I am sure. Needless to say, I am extremely excited![:D]
