Hernando County sportsmans club Gun Show, August 18 and 19th at the Fairgrounds in Brooksville on SR 41 . 9:oo AM to 5:00 Pm both days.

Not a bad little show and some deals to be had, especially by carry ins..

    I know its short notice, and since the Hurricane aint gonna get here till monday, thought I would let ya know about the Hernando County Cattelmans Asc. annual, Charity Trap Shoot, this sunday at the Sportsmans club.. Come out and shoot a few..[;)]

    OK! Here is the deal. I am calling you out. Challenge is you come to The Hernando Sportsmans club and shoot two rounds of trap and two rounds of Skeet. I weary of hearing how good of shots you people are.[:o)][:o)]So this is a challenge to a "Duel" Any of ya beat me then its FREE, but bring your lunch cause it will take ya all day..[:0]I know there are some of you close enough to be here in an hour, so what the hell is holding you back, cant be but one of two things, Fear or common sense...[}:)][}:)] Bring it on....[:p][:p]Oh yea ya gotta use a .410 ...[;)]

    Well, I would probably choose the 1100 Skeet, but "common sense", as you mentioned above, would tend to say that I will not win!
    Never shot with a .410,..........I like that 4 foot diameter circle of lead that my 12 throws out![:D][8D]

    Classic,.......I'll get with ya as soon as I can after the first of the year.
    I would actually like to give a .410 a shot anyway. You would most likely beat me even with me using the 12, as I have had it out once since I bought it. Prior to that, it has been "years" since I shot T&S.
    Also, how many times a week do you shoot?[:D][8D]

    Hi Classic, yes I'm only a hour away when I'm home but I won't be home till after the holidays to take you up on the challenge. Will a S&W 1000 in 20ga. be ok to bring as I don't own a .410 yet. Gary

    20 gauge is OK! Bring it on.[:p] I might even use my Winchester model 1912 made in 1915 against that S&W...[8D]

    Marc: I shoot 2 days a week, actually only get a bunch in on Sundays as Thursday night I run the range and maybe dont get to shoot at all depending on how many are there..On sundays I spend most of my time at the Skeet range as the guy that runs it on sunday cant get around too good so I reload the machines for him even though it is not my day to work the range..

    I'm lucky to hit 20 out of 25 with a 12 ga, but I'm a glutton for punishment. Just let me know when the festivities are and I'll make a trip up there from Parrish.

    Maybe we should get you off of your home turf. What do you think about the silver dollar trap club?

    Maalox:::I have shot at the Silver Dollar, main reason I dont go there much is there are a bunch of snobs over there,with their 400 dollar vests, and 250 dollar shell bags, and Perazzis and Krieghoffs. Last year one of em called my Winchester 1912, a peice of Shi$ after I beat him and his Kreighoff by 6 birds.[:p].But I will go there or any place within a reasonable drive.. Actually the Silver Dollar is closer to me than my home range[:D]

    We had a company shoot there a couple months ago and that was my first visit. I have only been there three times so I do not have much experience. What I saw was a bunch of retired folks having fun shooting trap. A couple guys in chairs or on stools out there shooting. Many of their wives were inside playing cards while the guys were out busting clays. It amazes me that there are homes withing 50 yards of the trap fields. I doubt I cold get my wife to agree to buying a weekend house within walking distance of a trap range.

    I have been wanting to go to Hernando and check it out so let me know when we are having the GBWCF shoot and I will do my best to participate. GBWCF = Gun Broker West Central Florida

    Dano: yep as long as its loaded with birdshot..Range rules ya know nothing Larger than number 5s..

    Couple of guys from the other coast will come if there is enough people, Heck there are about 20 people in the forum within driving distance.

    Also there is a Forum right here in florida that several of the members in here belong to also..

    If people can get together and decide on a date and time, I will set the range up for it..Providing there are enough people involved to tie up on of the trap or skeet fields..

    We have a guy that brings an assault Saiga semi auto 410 to the skeet range.. He cant hit anything with it but he has fun shooting it..[8D]
