Bushmaster makes a complete upper, but I am not sure about 30 rd. mags. DPMS used to make one but I am not sure of the quality, they discontinued the whole line "until further notice". There was another little place, can't remember what it's called, I'll look for a bookmark.

    Then there's this:

http://www.{elsewhere}/guns/976516252.htm <--LMAO. google for "CZ .22lr AR-15 Upper", it'll be the first link.

    Found another one:

I don't have an AR 22lr(ruger 10-22's are lots cheaper) but the info I've read indicates a dedicated upper is better than a chamber insert. The insert supposedly causes all sorts of barrel issues when you go back to 5.56. It seems the magazine is the key to the 22lr upper and replacements/extra mags are high $$. Best advise might be to go with a name brand who will warranty their unit to work properly. Tolerances can cause the ejector to catch the bolt or not kick out the case at all. Any slop in the upper lower fit can misalign that little hook ejector and then it won't consistently work.

Ciener still makes the 30 round magazines.

Rock I have seen the Bushmaster and I think they are the same as the CZ, but I could be wrong. As far as I know both of those systems only fit their own mags.

SG I have I seen that site and it is nice. I have one of the Bingham PPS50's and it is sure cool.
I would like some more of those kinda guns but they are not cheep or easy to find.

MK I have looked at them several times....... don't tempt me more. If they were about half the ~$1,700 price tag I am sure I would have one. Come to think of it that would be really cool using my KNS Spade grips and my Outback 2 suppressor with it [:D].

Mo and Yos. I know about the Ciener kits and that is why I am looking for a dedicated upper. I have enough other AR's that I do not see this one being used for .223 unless there is some kind of serious problem. Problem with the Ciener mags is they are ~$60/ea and these new ones are ~$25 each.

Well, as far as I know, everyone uses their own proprietary mags.

I'll look a little later for the shop that makes what looks like really nice uppers in .22lr.

Let me know if you find something, I am looking for the exact same thing - .22lr is a lot cheaper than .223 :)

I have a Ciener .22lr conversion for an Ar. It has the 30 round magazine and functions flawlessly. Lots of fun and accurate.

I transfered a lower for a customer last winter, shipping was on time, and it looked like a quality piece, I never heard any feedback from the buyer.

Anyone know any thing about Spikes Tactical,
Spike does a lot of business at the FL gun shows. Their ARs are big sellers down here as well as their lowers...FL shooters make pistols out of them. Their quality looks good but I've never shot one.
Heard from a lot of shooters who are satisfied w/Spikes.

I don't know if true, but during the last show, the owner of Spikes told me he purchased 2,000 "blank" receivers from Bushmaster.
He was setting himself up for any potential AW Ban.

He also told me they were interested in manufacturing ATVs...4 wheelers!
