Trail blocked and surrounded
Went out for a peaceful ride on the ATV mid afternoon today. About
1 1/2 mile back of my house was trapped deer blocking the trail, deer on the right, deer on the left . I realize they probably know me well, but had no feed for them with me. Just sat there and popped a beer and snapped some pics just sitting there till they moved out of the way. I paid the ransom a few hours later in food.

Wish I had that scenery in my "backyard",.......maybe someday before too long![;)]
Edit: Seems we are in the same trade! You remind me greatly of my favorite "great uncle" with your pics, and such. He was Navy, and unfortunately is not among us any longer.[:(]0 -
You're getting hustled lol by deer. Funny post, nice pics 0 -
Always a pleasure to see your posts!!! Are those Hickory trees? 0 -
Ray B : Mostly oaks with a few hickory trees. Good acorn crop this year which they love. Trails not wide enough for even a jeep. Hope it stays this same way. Nice stream back there also . 0 -
If it's as dry there as it is here, they probably wanted a drink of that cold one! 0 -
Marc 1301: My trade for 40 years was A.C. and Refrig. Now well retired. If you are in this trade let me know. A lot of stuff left over you are welcome to. 0 -
Joe,......thanks for the offer, but I am heading into "semi-retirement", at this point.
I have been in the trade for 25 years, and run my own business for the last 17 of them.
I sold off my residential, and light commercial business, a bit over a year ago, and now all I do is Industrial HVAC. I have a few major corporations, that I do work for, and hope to be out of it within the next 5 years or so.
There are surely some guys starting out, that would love to have your "stuff",........I would have also, years ago![:D]
Very generous of you to offer BTW![;)]
Edit: Keep posting your pics,.......it keeps me looking forward to seeing that on my own property someday!0 -
Joe, Thanks for the pics. 0 -
Nice pics Joe, keep em coming 0 -
Thanks for sharing Joe, keep 'em coming. 0 -
that aint a trail. a trail is made for trail BIKES. atv's need way too wide a space to be called trails. theyre just small roads! 0 -
Got to differ with you. Most of the trails here are at the most are
4 foot or less in width. I bought this critter purposly as it was narrow and coped with the trails width. A full sized ATV wouldnt hack it in the least. Far as dirt bikeing, did that there too, till age caught up with me .0 -
Nice pics again Joe!
I would have liked to have seen that buck in the photos this morning.[:D]0 -

Brought my young son, Joe (Age 50) with me this afternoon to clear some deadfall in the trails this afternoon with the electric chainsaw (from the batteries to the 115 volt inverter) . He did all the work, thank God. Counted two groups, one group of 3 and one larger group with fawns. So far nothing over 6 points this year yet. Dont know where the 8 pointers went to this year. 0 -
Joe,
I can't believe you're only 1 hour South of me.........[:0]0 -
