short answer is yes you can cut off the bag and drive the vehicle however the bag blew because the sensor was activated. In other words the core support and radiator may/was pushed out of original allignment. Have you seen any fluids leaking underneith ? It should be checked at a body shop before being driven for any distance.

Check eBay for bags, have it replaced by a certified mechanic or at lease one that has installed bags before. It may take a FORD garage to set up the bag.

Fords have an inertial fuel pump cut off switch. If you're going to try to drive the truck, it won't start if this is tripped, its usually on the firewall on the trucks and is marked. The one time I had an airbag go off, the vehicle was totaled beyond driving. I've none a few people hove pulled the bag out and laced up the steering wheel pad. Airbags can't be rebuilt, when they deploy, they prity much destroy themselves.

Thanks for replying. No I haven't noticed any fluid leaking and we park it in the garage so nothing is leaking on the floor. As for front end damage all I could see was the bumper was bent up a little.

This is definately something that will be repaired, but I just needed a quick fix for now.
