Bad mouse stops boot up?

Shouldn't, although there can be a BIOS setting for that, as well as keyboard, especially for a PS/2 mouse.

Serial mouse no way (old dos machines), Linux won't care, Mac won't care (but it will be hard to do much). USB mouse on Windows nope because USB support kicks in after the boot process is going, etc.

Unless said deceased mouse has been snacking on the powersupply cables...

    -[8D]-Mine does it fairly often--

-I have an infra-red sensor HP mouse and when the Infra light doesn't illuminate when I initiate "start" on my PC--Nothing will happen--

--I just push the standby button, wait 2 minutes and restart and it always reboots, so you might try your standby button-wait and try again--

--Your "mouse" has to be "clickable" or nothing will work !!!!!
