Getting right back on THAT horse

I have replaced my crapped out truck and found at least temporary employment through an agency, working second shift in a factory.

Second shift has always been pretty good to me, you can party until the wee hours without getting too wasted.

Tonight around 1:00 a.m. I bumped into a lady celebrating her birthday. Her designated driver wanted to get home and rest and based on my word alone, totally left it up to me to see the lady home.

Last call was over at 2:30 and we headed out to my car. I offered to take her to an all night greasy spoon and she thought that was capital.

After we ate she wanted to go to the Eagles Lodge where she had left her car but asked me to follow her to make sure she got home.

She invited me in. She grabbed a bottled water but I accepted a beer. We chatted for a bit and she asked if she could kiss me. I accepted and reciprocated to a degree but I felt that it would be taking unfair advantage to try to get into her pants.

I have written a card and in 3 hours I plan to be at the PO to ask them to be sure it gets delivered in today's mail.

We have a tenative date to meet at the Moose after I get off work at 11 tonight.

    Mouse, it's good to hear from you. Last I heard, you were pretty despondant about that woman that couldn't quite let go. Looks like you're back in the saddle again. Just take it easy, women can be very sneaky when they want something.
    Honky Tonk women are good for a little fun, but I'd watch. I married one years ago and from what I hear, she still hasn't got the honky-tonk out of her system. Keep us posted.

    She didn't come to the event at the Moose so I don't know when I'll see her again.

    I sort of regret not going for it last night but I still think I did the right thing.
