Why?
Is it that every time there is a tv show or a story on tv news someone feels they have to tell everyone on GB about it? Do you think we all live back in the mountains and come out once a week just to check GB for news? I have five tv's and I get two news papers. I read Readers Digest and Time among others. I don't need old news! A lot of us knew about the things you are reporting before you were hatched!

Why would you ruin perfectly good bourbon or rum with any kind of mixer? For me, chill the glass with a little crushed ice, dump the ice, and pour in the booze! If the liquor HAS to have a mixer, it isn't worth drinking! 0 -

I have to agree with that as well as with James RK. I do like just a splash of spring water with my bourbon. NEVER add tap water or any water with a high mineral content because iron destroys bourbon.0 -

I read somewhere that mixing one's hooch with sugary drinks increases the hangover. I don't know. When I was drinking (Jim Beam was my poison) I never had a hangover. I was never sober long enough to get one. Sadly, I sometimes miss those innocent days of self-destruction. 0 -

Never tried bourbon and coke. Rum and coke, yes. I drink way too much soda to drink coke what with all of its sugar, so I have to stay with the more unnatural, chemically-laced, artificially-fortified diet colas.[:D] 0 -

Even when I was a boozer I could'nt drink bourbon. Shots of Cutty Sark, neat, was my usual choice for the hard stuff. 0 -

My father-in-law used to make a drink that will put hair on your tongue. He would pour two or three ounces of bourbon into a coffee cup, then two or three heaping spoons full of sugar, then fill the cup with coffee. He thought the drink was excellent. I thought it would gag a maggot.
I like bourbon. I like sugar. I like coffee. Somehow to me, the three just don't mix well. To each his own I guess.0 -
