Damn straight! If telling the truth on that item on the form prevents the illegal transfer of a firearm, then it isn't the dealer that has broken the law, is it?!!!

IMO, Mayor Bloomberg is aquiescing to pressure from the NYPD in the wake of several "very questionable" police shootings in recent years, i.e. Amadu Diallou and the young man killed one night before his wedding. There are numerous others and no, I'm not lambasting the NYPD here.
It's a smokescreen of sorts aimed at falsely dramatizing the number of illegal guns currently in the hands of New Yorkers and at illustrating the importance of dealing with illegal guns.
What better place to lay blame than on the "out-of-New-York-State" gun dealers themselves? Gets lots of airtime and it creates the illusion of knowing what the problem actually is. Illegal guns cannot be controlled, only legal ones can and therein lies the rub.0 -
How is it that a NY mayor can file suit on a business in VA? Especially if that business does no business in NY? 0
