A Marine Sergeant's Opinion of the Iraq War
Saw this while looking at Alledan's pocket size tank killer link:
Well, it seams any more that every time i watch the news or read a paper I get really pissed off. All you hear is we are loosing we cant win, we need to be more sensitive. What a bunch of crap!!! In a war you let the bullets fly and the blood flow! I was there for the invasion and I heard the same thing then. And we stomped a mud hole in them. Then we became sensitive. Our own elected(a real joke) politicans tried to paint us as killers and hinder the completion of the mission. How many times did we have al sadar cornered after the killed americans and hajis? Why did we let them go? All that does is show the enemy we aren't willing to finish the job. The men in uniform are ready to get those bubs but why do our leaders prevent it. The are getting just what they wanted, Veietnam. Any victory or advancements go unheard and hidden by our communist media. All you see is the death and suffering that is war, and the anti American propaganda that comes from there treasonis holes. I think we need to kick the media out, seal off the iranians and syrans. And kill all of them(bad guys) You shoot at US forces and pitch your rifle and now you get a nice meal and nice blanky then they ask you some questions, appologize, pay you for any property damage and send you on your way to kill US troops again. I would cut them in half with my 240. That sensitivity is why we are still screwing around with a third world country. You can thank the liberals for that. And thank the weakling republicans that want to play nice with the liberals, so every one can be happy. Grow some balls, the troops need stong leaders not wimps or o-bamas or clintons. Well I guess I really sound like a nut now, but guess what? I don't care, I know I am right!

I agree. If you choose to go to war you turn over the control to the professionals! Thats how you win. When the politicans get involved that is the beginning of the end![:(]
The Democrats turned it into a way to win back Congress and probably the White House. They have no integrety or soul and also don't like being called "cowards" and "cut and run" merchants. But when the roles are reversed they will scream and holler and we need to do the same back to them. IMHO!0 -
Texas Vet - Thanks for the post. I have made the point in prior posts on this forum ---- If we are going over there (and we did), get out of the way of our soldiers and let them do their jobs. It is not pretty, but if it needs to be done, do it and do it well. 0 -
The Sarge is dead on. 0 -
Wow... funny how he blames the liberals when it was the GOP in control of Congress and the White House and the DoD and the State Department up until just this past election.
If things are going wrong, it's not too much of a leap to say that those who were in charge are the ones we should be blaming.
"Sgt. Sweeney" might have balls, but he needs a brain to go along with 'em.0 -
This is always a good read. Thanks! 0 -
Ba Sardo --- thanks for your reply. Gives me something with which to disagee. Hopefully, my post will put this worthwhile item back to the top of the list and more will see it. I, sir, disagree with you completely!!!!!!!! 0 -

you act as if the Left and the Demos have't had a voice since 2000. Like they've all been locked away in a gulag somewhere (dream of dreams) and the entire national discourse has been a conservative echo-chamber up until a few months ago. PUH-LEEZE!!!! They may have been in the minority, but they had plenty of outlets and coverage from their friends, allies, and sycophants in the media, overseas, and among our enemies. They can hardly stand blameless.0 -

Have you ever served in our military, Monkey? Never mind you will of course say yes because there is no way to prove other wise. It is easy to beat this kid up over his written word...yet you yourself offer nothing up to rebuk what he is speaking about. He is right...we have on our hands another Vietnam. Thanks in part to our media's desire to humanize war. War is brutal, it has to be...so you don't want to go to war except as a last resort. Politicians have no place on a battle front. Tell the Generals what you want accomplished and get out of the way. Yes the Sgt has a bug up his butt...he was sent there to do a job. He is a United States Marine...his job is to kill the bad guy. There is no magic bullet to point the blame...everyone in Washington has played a part in this war. It needs to stop and the only way to get things to stop in this country is to voice your opinion in numbers. Vote!! Don't vote for one side or the other just because you've always voted that way. Vote for the people that want to steer this country in the direction you want it to go. Just don't vote for a person who can't drive and then blame them for the wreck!!0 -

Sgt. Sweeney seems to have a bug up his rear about Republicans here. Or at least one can assume he does since he calls all of the elected officials (at the time he wrote this) "a real joke."
- "Kick the media out." And then b**** and moan when no one remembers the troops.
- "Seal off the Iranians and Syrians." Yeah, tell the decider in chief that. Oh wait, he was too busy sending troops to defend oil fields instead
- "All you see is the death and suffering that is war..." But, but, in war you let the bullets fly and blood flow, don't you?
- "every time i watch the news or read the paper, I get really pissed off. All you hear is we are loosing we can't win..." We're supposed to thank this illiterate man that we can read anything in English? Damn, use that GI Bill education and LEARN TO READ AND WRITE.
Guess you never made spelling or grammar errors, huh?
Funny, the Sgt. could spell well enough to put his butt on the line while you sit in college and make judgements on others.
The internet is a wonderful thing. You can hide behind your screen name and make statements that would get your face bashed in had you made them in person. Disrespecting a combat Marine could be enough to get you banned from this board, and I hope it happens.0 -
Ba Sardo...Consider this a warning. If you want to insult our military, you can do it elsewhere. Your reply has been deleted. Didn't you liberals learn anything with Kerry's disrespectful comments???? We will not tollerate personal insults and attacks on this forum...it's best that you learn this from the start. 0 -
Thank you, Eric. 0 -
Let's see....get a gun.... shoot the Muslim terrorist....the terrorist dies....yep, it just might work. 0 -
I can see where the Sergents coming from. He has a lot of good points there. I think one of the things that should be done is to get the media out of there and let the military do there job without having to worry about doing something wrong in the eyes of the media. That nonsense about prisoner abuse is one of the things that gets me upset everytime I hear about it. People, This is war. Let's remember that. (disabled veteran)[:(!][:(!] 0 -
Thanks, ECC. 0 -

Since monkey won't man up on this one, I'll tell you.
No, he has never served and never will serve!0
