Giuliani on Gun Control?
I hear that Giuliani favors gun control. I have no first hand knowledge of this position but I know it is stated over and over in this forum. Him being from New York City is a good indicater, it does seem like most of the folks who reside their have a similar position.
I wonder if it is possible to make contact with him and offer support if he will make some adjustments in his tough NYC position?
I have checked for a link and have not found one at this time. Maybe a blitz direct to the GOP party head might have some effect. He is running at 44% the last I heard!
What are your thoughts about this??

A leopard can't change his spots.
If it walks like a liberal and quacks like a liberal, it's probably a democrat.
Everybody sounds so concerned about the democrats having control of congress and all the terrible gun control crap the democrats will be likely to shove down our throats.
But I haven't heard anybody taking any consolation in the fact that, for the next couple years anyway, any law passed by congress has to go across our republican president's desk to be signed into law.
OH!! THAT'S RIGHT!!
Our freedom loving president has already said that if an "assault weapons ban" made it to his desk, HE WOULD SIGN IT!!
If good ol' GW can't be counted on to protect our second ammendment (and he can't), then there's not a snowball's chance in he!! that a liberal gun-grabber like Rudy would walk across the street to urinate on the constitution if it was on FIRE!!0 -
I can't see 300,000 NRA members in Pennsylvania getting in line to "register" their collections, handed down across generations. 0 -

Rudy Giuliani addressed a potentially troublesome issue with conservative voters, saying his policies as mayor to get handguns off the street helped reduce crime in New York.
"I used gun control as mayor," he said at a news conference Saturday during a swing through California. But "I understand the Second Amendment. I understand the right to bear arms."
He said "What I did as mayor will have no effect on hunting."
Well! Now that I see he "understands it", he has my full support! lol What a joke. [:o)]
Gun control nightmare in disguise. He may not propose new bills but you can bet he'll sign any anti-gun bill that hits his desk without even skimming through it.
I'm to the point where I almost don't even care who gets elected. Let the dems win. They think they can solve everything. Let em do it. In the mean time, the republicans deserve a long break in the time out chair. If they can't find anybody better to run that what we've seen so far, they deserve to lose.
After 8 years of Bush, you'd think they'd realize they'll be in the fight of their lives. Maybe they're conceding 08 already? Who knows, who cares? Let the mess unfold. To hell with it.0 -

Given the choice between HRC, Guiliani or Obama, I'm pushing for Obama, and I'll tell you why:
1. Hillary is a Marxist. She scares the hell out of me. This is a woman who claims to be centrist, yet it wasn't too long ago when Exxon/Mobil just declared it had the largest profitable quarter in US history, she would take those profits as POTUS. That should scare the hell out of you, too. That's pure marxism. If you don't think she'd have the power to actually do this, keep in mind that if she concentrates her bile on Big Oil, she'll get a lot of followers, because most people (even some of you here, as evidenced by your postings) are upset for having to pay what they pay for gas and energy.
2. Obama is running against Hillary. Obama is a one-term senator and lacks any real political experience. What will happen to Obama is the same thing that happened to Clinton and Bush, both of whom were "outsiders" -- the PTB will influence them heavily and "guide" them to do the "right" thing.
3. Rudi is someone I can't stand. He's a RINO. He's a liberal pantywaste but he's at least portrayed himself to be strong on defense. He's also not running against Hillary, he's running against the other GOPers.
I want Obama to run against whoever is nominated as the GOP candidate. I do not want Hillary running against the GOP candidate.
Please understand that I want neither Obama or Hillary as POTUS. However, Obama is the lesser of two evils (and, for that matter, I don't think he can win).0 -

Would you support Mr. Zumbo because he said he has "re-evaluated" his position. Rudy was for gun control, he can NEVER be trusted to protect our rights, period.
If he secretly, or publicly, says he supports Amendment II, he is either a liar, or has no integrity, since he has advocated gun-control as an elected official. Either way, he is a gun-controller.
Politicians say what they need to to get elected. You would think we would have learned that by now. I guess not.0 -

This is so true. For you folks who have lived 60+ years as I have you have the frame of reference to compare him to. He is Jack Kennedy in sheeps clothing. Even if you got the assurances and promises, could you trust them? Look at Washington, DC. When the DC politicians decided they needed to register all the guns in DC for the protection of the public and to fight crime, a large part of the population balked because they thought it might lead to confiscation. They were reassured and promised long enough that it was only a paperwork drill and would have no effect on actual gun ownership and possession that they went along with the program. When the registration was done, it was used to locate and confiscate the guns. 0 -

Mr.Giuliani is not afraid to handle whatever comes his way.... [That's not an endorsement though] Problem is he has a tendency to lean far to the left at times.
The First and second amendments are in jeopardy. i.e.( words you can't say and firearns and cutlery you can't possess.)

The only people I could support are Bill Richardson, D, Joe Liberman, I, and the best Jeb Bush, R, who can not run becuase his brother has deminished the name for now.
Jeb was the best governor this state ever had and passed many great gun protection laws.
None of the current hopefuls has me doing anything but stocking up.
I suggest you do the same.
