How do they lock each car in its cubicle for safety.
Talk about German efficiency! The two photos below were taken at a new parking garage in Munich . The actual space that the facility occupies is approximately only 20% of a comparable facility with the traditional design that is used primarily in the US . Not only is the German structure less expensive to build, but vehicles are also "retrieved" in less time and without the potential of being damaged by an attendant.

Looks like the sled slides under the car. Then the jacks swing out, pinching the tires and in turn lifting the car. Wa La. 0 -
I have worked on several iterations of automation attempting to put or retreive containers from/to shipboard stowage.
We dropped containers from 3 feet, from 30 feet, tried to carry a loaded container through a wall of already stacked containers, and much,much more.
One sensor gets out of adjustment, and your brand new Maybach gets stuffed in a hole where there is already a Trabant. One line of code gets fritzed, and your 966 gets pushed into one of the support beams.
So, when the Opera lets out, and theSignificant Other has to go potty before you drive home, and you are 437th in line to get your car, how long do you wait in the rain?0 -
This reminds me of a system in use over 20 years ago used for retrieving boats stored in a building, out of the water.
Worked fine, then - in South Florida - I stored my boat there.

Speaking of German.
Notice most of the cars are a non-color.
Grey-black or white.
Just interesting observation (I drive a grey-silver 1981 300SD so can't talk either). It is my gun range car and is always loaded with all my gear so I only need to add guns and ammo to be off (I would forget a number of things if I had to load each time)
