Plus all the folks in your state continue to vote into office that fun Governor that continues to vote no on your right to have concealed carry permits. Whats with that?

Darn liberals that hang out in Madison seem to be in control of the state. [:(]

I also imagine there is a strong Union presence in Wis and they all support the Democrat party.

Zulu you need to start talking to all those hunters, target shooters and gun collectors in WI and get them back on track.[:0]

here are a few I got back

Thank you for contacting me regarding the semiautomatic weapons ban. I appreciate hearing from you and would like to respond to your concerns.

When our Founding Fathers drafted the Constitution, they included the Second Amendment to guarantee people the right to keep and bear arms. This is a fundamental part of our American identity, and I will work with my Senate colleagues to ensure that this liberty is protected for all law-abiding citizens.

On February 13, 2007, Representative Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) introduced the Assault Weapons Ban and Law Enforcement Protection Act (H.R. 1022). This legislation would reauthorize for ten years the Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act, which prohibits the manufacture, transfer, or possession of a semiautomatic assault weapon or a large capacity ammunition feeding device. H.R. 1022 has been referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary, where it awaits further approval.

Although no similar legislation has been introduced in the Senate, I will keep your thoughts in mind as we proceed in the 110th Congress.

Again, thank you for sharing your views with me. If you have any additional questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me. In addition, for more information about issues and activities important to Florida, please sign up for my weekly newsletter at http://martinez.senate.gov.

    Dear Friend:
Thank you for contacting me to express your opinion regarding the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. I appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts with me on this matter.
The Second Amendment of the Constitution reads, "[a] well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State , the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." I believe this provision should be read as a prohibition against the federal government denying citizens the right to bear arms.

I am a strong and consistent supporter of the Second Amendment and I firmly believe that our Second Amendment rights must be preserved and protected. In a few, limited circumstances, I believe that commonsense considerations are overriding, such as banning possession of semiautomatic weapons by juveniles or felons. Rest assured that I will not support federal laws that unnecessarily restrict the Constitutional rights of law-abiding United States citizens to keep and bear arms.

Many citizens choose to own a firearm for a variety of reasons: for sport, for hunting, for collecting, or for protection. Any or all of these are good reasons. More importantly, though, the Constitution guarantees that the citizens of the United States have this freedom to keep and bear arms. You can be sure that I will not compromise or support legislation that erodes this freedom.

Again, I want to thank you for taking the time to contact me. Rest assured that I will continue to keep your views in mind as Congress meets over the coming months. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of any further assistance on this or any other matter.

    Sincerely,

    f

    ANDER CRENSHAW

    Member of Congress

Felons are felons because they DON'T follow laws. The government doesn't seem to realize this simple fact.

Sent another email to the idiot. Here's what I wrote:

    quote:Dear Senator Kohl,

I received your reply to my previous email, and I wished to present my conserns about your stand on this issue.

    In your reply you said:

"However, laws prohibiting felons and other potentially dangerous individuals from owning guns are reasonable and effective ways to reduce violent crime in our communities."

I wish to point out to you the error in your stand: Felons and other potentially dangerous individuals, as you call them, obviously could care less about the laws as they currently stand, so what makes you feel that passing a law which restricts firearms will actually have an effect on people who already DON'T follow laws?

In other words, criminals are going to aquire firearms regardless of what regulations are passed. The only people who these laws directly affect are LAW ABIDING CITIZENS, who are no more dangerous to society than the common cold.

Allow me to remind you of what the 2nd Amendment says: "[a] well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State , the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

This does not refer to hunters or sport/competition shooters, but to EVERYDAY CITIZENS. It says that every person (excluding felons/criminals) have every right to own any kind of firearm they want to protect themselves, their families and their communities against any and all people who threaten to remove the rights guarenteed to them in the Constitution of the United States.

In your own words that you said to me through your email, you are in full support of removing the rights of the upstanding, law-abiding citizens of the United States of America. Does that make you an oppressor, Mr. Senator?

    Disappointedly yours,

    PFC Jacob D Jennerman
    Wisconsin
