It Is An Internet Forum, After All

And not to be taken all that seriously. Some people seem to have skin that is way too thin. Others seem to have such a limited grasp of the language that they cannot disagree without being insulting. Still others don't understand the rules.

I have caught myself becoming angry over something a member posted. It is something I must guard against, as must you all. It is only an internet forum, after all.

I will also say this: The Gunbroker Message Forums are owned by Gunbroker (GB Holdings) the auction site, and provided free as a public service. If a person is a member of the forums, and also a seller on the auction site, and if that person sometimes provides a link to his auctions, that is not a violation of the rules. The more people look, the more people bid. The more people bid, the higher the sale price. The higher the sale price, the more Gunbroker collects in fees. The more Gunbroker collects in fees, the better their profit margin, and all the more likely that they will continue to be able to provide these forums as a free service.

    hey, i got an idea.
    instead of charging for want ads, or making them post the response on auction so gb can squueze a few drops of blood out of us looking for things, why not 25 cents per post in the forums, 1.00 per c&p, and 2.00 per argument post? that will help gb![:o)]


    dave. remember, youre a cop in real life and a cop here at gb. you cant let your emotions get the best of you during a quarrel. just respesent he law, enforce it, and bring the accused before the judge. fine the guilty, give mercy to the innocent, and go back out and do it again, after a good donut and coffee.[^]

    man, if fees were based on our post count........a lot of people will be wearing out the delete button, and, we'd become a self policed society based on financial loss due to poor behaviour, and fees for good service. hey! sounds like american society! i like it!

    You remind me of Dewey's Vermont farmer, who would weigh his pigs by piling them on one end of a beam, piling rocks on the other end, and when the beam balanced guessed the weight of the rocks.

    Seldom do I post here but since it is free, I will.
    GB auction site should charge $0.25 for an auction ad..
    There are about 10 -12 things I am interested in.
    The same ads are posted over and over and over for years on those 12 items. They never sell and never will at those prices.
    If I contact the seller I can usually work a backdoor deal and GB gets nothing.
    Seems stupid as a business model.
    But then I admit I am a crappy businessman.
