Got the 14 Today**Now With Pics**
So after years of trying to get my buddy to sell me the carcass of his Model 14, months of scraping together my errant nickels to buy the parts and a couple of short weeks waiting for the smith to put it all together, I got the 14-4 today.
All in all, I paid roughly what I could've gotten a real nice one for here on GunBroker. But this old girl used to belong to a real well-known gun-head here in Logan County, whose son is probably the best friend I've ever had, for whatever that's worth. The owner of the gun shop sez he just slopped some cold blue on the barrel to take the worst of the hurt out of looking at it. Turned out passably nice.
Tomorrow, the owner of the radio station will be in town. I told him to bring his short pants and sunglasses, 'cause we're headed to the gun range. I'll have that report as soon as I can.

There's lots of reasons for wanting a particular gun.

my dad had a gun a long time ago like that one but his was .357, any idea what it was? it didnt have the shroud on the jector rod, just like that. Not to hijack your thread, its a nice gun! 0 -

Well, I'm pretty new to the Smith&Wesson thang, but I think any .357's from the 19 and up had the ejector shroud. Now I know a guy who's Model 19 doesn't have the shroud, but that's because it's sporting the original barrel off that 14-4 at the top of the page.
