Maybe it's for trick shooting when standing on your head! [:D]

Only problem I see is, you're not shooting 'yotes with it right now.

You see, I've been thing about this one for a while. Had a near miss with one just last week. Near as I see it, zombies are afraid of the light. Except for the UK variant, they mainly come out at night in the United States. My theory is they aren't afraid of a red light. (Hey, it works with coyotes.) So, I'm thinking about mounting a 100,000 canlepower redlight on a 20X scope on an AK. 30 round. Semi-auto. Scoped and ready for night shooting.

It's experimental, but somebody has to figure these things out. I figure you need the scope. You don't want to wait until they're too close. The last thing you want to do is burn 30 rounds on one at 40 feet when there are 100 more at 500 yards!

Seriously, it's a Barska 6.5-20 X 50mm scope. I can't bore sight it worth a crap. It shoots down and to the right. I can't dial it in up and to the left enough. Took it out shooting, and can't dial it in close enough to hit a zombie.

I've taken the scope off and remounted it several times. Same results.

So tonight I was curious. I mounted it on the Remington 700. Zeroed in just fine with the bore laser. So I tried the Nikon Monarch 50mm on the AK. I was able to dial it in just fine.

    What am I missing here?

Plether? Right, only the best from Rent-a-Center.

Heck no! That couch is like a giant over stuffed bomber jacket. It's in the basement and we don't use it near enough.

I didn't think Zombie's cared about light. It's been awhile but wasn't "return of the dead" mostly during the day? I know "shawn of the dead" was, I just saw it.

I've seen them on SKS's before but never on AK. Used to
be called the 'Barney Fife Pursuit Rifle!'

You could try shimming the base. Or reversing the mounts front to rear or turning them around. Is it mounted to the dust cover or the side rail? Dust cover maounts are not very stable.

The only thing wrong with the picture is that it is too dark.

Can't hit a 2X3 ft target with it at 100 yards. Went from hitting clay pigeons at 100 yards to missing 864 sq inch target. Maybe the the Wolf 62 grain hollow bullets have something to do with it. I was using Remington's. Maybe this setup sucks. Everyone here said don't do it.

is it that far off with the iron sights?

Nope. When shooting without the benefit/ handicap of the scope and with Remington bullets I was shooting out the clay pigeons at 100 yards. Actually, the front sight needs to go a hair to the right, but it was accurate enough I knew which side of the pigeon to aim for. BTW, it's a .223 not a 7.62X39.

Yesterday I was getting frustrated with the scope, so I started to shoot with the iron sights. I shot two shots. On the third, I saw a cow 15 feet away from the target just after I pulled the trigger, so I quit for the day. Funny, after each shot, I was walking up to the target to inspect where it landed. (I forgot the spotting scope.) Never noticed the cattle were migrating. As badly as I was hitting the target with this thing, I decide it was best that I quit. Hardly spoked the cow. She jumped just a little, then put her head down and moved curiously closer.

(It wasn't just me. I was shooting fine with the .22 and .270.)

The heavier grain bullet might have something to do with it.
