Drew Blood On First Day..

First day of the 3rd season...Sitting on a rock ledge looking a canyon over when a coyote walks up...about 8 feet away! When I brought the 38-55 around to fire (one handed) the stupid thing came closer and turned broadside...I guestimate it was only about 4 feet from the muzzle when I pulled the trigger..Pretty strange...Had a real nice coat too....Now if the deer would get that close...

    One of our members took a shot at a coyote a while back and wounded it but did not bother to make an effort to track it down and finish the job.

    He caught a considerable amount of flack over it.

    I found out the other day that coyotes are worth $50 per each here. The fellow I buy my beef from told me if you take it to the animal warden he cuts the tongue out of it and gives you $50 and the coyote. I don't know why you would want the coyote back unless it was mid or late Winter and it had a nice pelt. He said they take the tongue so you can't take the same one across the county line and collect again for the same coyote.

    You should feel ashamed--contributing to the dysfunction of a suicidal creature. Have you no compassion? You could have at least referred him to a suicide hotline or a social worker. [:(][xx(]
