Manly footwear

I'm talking about "cowboy" boots. Who wears them and where do you get them? The ones with the toe so sharp that you can squash a roach in the corner of the room. The ones with the undercut heel so that they don't get stuck in the mud/chit.
I've had several pair but only two pair that I could wear all day long. I'm told that you can still get some hand made down by the border for a reasonable price. (Forget mail order). They never have been fashionable around here, even amongst the cattle men, but I still would like to have some good ones that fit.

    I live down by the border and have never found that to be true. Across the border they are more reasonable, but the quality suffers. Hand made boots cost handmade prices.

    Personally I have too much regard for my feet to wear those things.

    Nothing more comfortable than a pair of Justin Ropers. They're probably out of style, but man they're comfortable. Dan Post also makes a very comfortable boot. Leather soles are key.

    Yep, Justin Ropers here too.Fit like a glove. Staight heel, someone here said Im probably from a chit boot town in the sticks recently, so I guess the boot fits.
    Timberland hikers get plenty of use around these parts too.

    Justin Ropers and Double H Ropers......both brands I can wear all day long with no problems....my Double H boots are even more comfortable than my Justin Boots.

    I also have a couple of pairs of Airat Ropers but don't find them as comfortable.

    I also have steel toe boots in the Justin lace up style as well as Airats steel toe lace up boots. For me the Justin work boot is more comfortable.

    You just made me decide what I'm going to go buy with this money that's been burning a hole in my pocket. I need a new pair of boots.

    I think the last few pairs I had were Nocona. They had leather soles, but I've found that I wear them out in a hurry. I always have them redone in neoprene. I buy them at Jones Boot, in Sheldon MO. I also picked up my last pair of Red Wing slip-ons there.

    Tony Lama's for me. That last fits my foot -- high arch, narrow heel, B width. Never were shoes. Have a few pairs of boots (15 or more). Second the motion on the full quills. Very comfortable boots.

    Tony Lama's here, too. Currently have 4 pair in the closet. Can't stand ropers or lace-up boots. I wear them until the original leather wears out then re-sole them with synthetic non-slip. One pair has been through about 5-6 resoles plus one upper repair.

    I used to but them smooth soles is a deathtrap up here in the icy north.
